Curley is doing great...for me; but at 10 months, it is time that he learns to work for Rick as well. Curley had a wonderful puppyhood with little pressure, age appropriate expectations and lots of fun. That resulted in a trusting, calm and patient young dog.
Curley's training skills are solid and dependable, again for me, but it is time to move his education from Middle School up to High School. It is also time to begin transferring the authority from me to Rick.
Because Curley can & likes to be enthusiastic, when Rick has worked him, it has mainly been while sitting in a wheelchair. Rick is pretty fragile and has days he hurts but this visit, he was feeling strong enough to actually walk Curley. Rick has also been hesitant to use the Q-Walker but it is time to begin putting all the pieces together.
So let me tell you, by the time this visit was over, Rick was working Curley like he'd done it forever. Believe me, this was a major accomplishment all the way around!
