I've taken to calling mine squiggly because squiggles are exactly what it looks like. I also like "wurly" as a portmanteau of curly and wavy.

This is what I do: shove it all into a shower cap that is fabric, not plastic. It won't get overly wet but the steam will start to re-set the curls. When I take it down after, I assess it and mist with water where needed. I might use a little curl refresh spray or mousse. I air dry but if it really needs it, I diffuse dry. The steam is key.

@@Kiara22222 I used to always brush out my hair because I wore it in a bun every day while growing it out. You can brush dry hair if you use a detangling brush and spray detangler and are very careful. I always slept in a braid or braids of some sort to keep it from tangling. You can do one or two regular braids or rope braids for more spirally waves. I suggest misting it with water before braiding so it dries overnight like set with curlers would. Also if you put a soft curler on the end of each braid, it will look better. I took the plastic parts out of my sponge rollers and put the sponges inside knee high stockings. I would roll it up, hold temporarily with a claw clip, and tie the ends of the stocking over the top of the clip. Just one tie would do it; I didn't need a knot. I could then slip the clip out from under the tied ends. I used to do my whole head that way sometimes. You could do that, too. I was into vintage hairstyles but it's too long now.

Nothing wrong with waves, yes they are technically loose curls, BUT they generally behave differently and require different styling methods and techniques to look their best. As someone with VERY curly hair my only gripe is that a lot of wavies up-type their hair and I think this leads to confusion that trickles up even to brands formulating products. It’s hard to find products that aren’t geared toward tightening up curls. For me that means SHRINKAGE. Wavies: just be wavy. It’s okay!

Her hair is 2c, and 3a 2c hair is a continuous S shape 3a hair is loose ringlets (the curlier part of kiana’s hair) And 3b is tight ringlets
