My hair is 2c/3a, I’m have been doing the curly girl method for over a month now, I’ve always kept my hair natural, but never used the right products, my hair used to be so glossy and bouncy, especially through pregnancies but I had terrible psoriasis on my whole body, and now the psoriasis is gone, my hair was still recovering, my scalp was reacting to all my usual shampoos, all I needed was to ditch the sulphate! My hair is shoulder length , finally found a hair stylist that embraces my natural curly and thick hair and not pull a face and use it as an excuse to charge me twice the amount! So I condition, then shampoo, then I use the Maui curl milk, and a a curl cream, plop for an hour or so, and diffuse, can’t for summer to just let it dry naturally! I love your videos, you are a real définition of natural xx

I only use shea moisture shampoo conditioner and leave in conditioner and then I dry it with a t-shirt but I only use the leave in conditioner every other day should I start using it daily or just keep doing what I’m doing?

One tip I learned was to flip your head when you rinse out the conditioner so that you’re not washing the top of your head directly. Instead you’re rinsing from the bottom. This comes from realizing that the hairs in the back ALWAYS look better than the ones on top, and it’s essentially because we put a direct stream of water on the top of our heads and the back is staying more moisturized. Reversing this helped me a lot! :)

Summertime Saint you probably have thin hair which getting weighed down easily, so the texture that more close to the scalp getting streched, you can try using light products, and when you are brushing your hair when it's wet do that with your head upside down so that the crown area doesn't stick to the scalp, plus I recommend to do you whole washing process when you head is upside down, it's a bit uncomfortable but I'd say it's worth it

Learned the plop method from you and it's a life saver. I hated using diffusers because it caused major frizz. I plop my hair for 15mins before hair dry/diffuser and it help tremendously! I am curious about that pomade though. Seems to work but also a bit time consuming... 😔

Maribel Arista I have tried both method. And even tried alternating temperatures... When I plopp, I diffuse for 5 to 10 minutes max by doing 10seconds cold than after, 10sec low heat. My hair takes very long to dry, that's why I also cut it short.

I really want to try DevaCurl but they're such so expensive and the shipping is just too much. I also can't find a deep conditioner here! Is there a way to turn a regular conditioner into a deep conditioner? Just curious how often do you do protein treatments and which one would you recommend? Also doesn't rinsing your hair like that take a lot of time? And how do you get different oils out of your hair? Like coconut oil, castor oil, etc.? Sorry I have so many questions, I'm just really new to all this! Great video btw😊❤️

Hey Penny, first of all let me start by saying that you were the one to inspire me go natural, cz I truly believe we have pretty much the same curl type (normal-high porosity 3b?), well if only mine where healthy. Almost after one year, although I've definitely seen a big difference in definition and frizz reduction, I still struggle with maintaining moisture and dammit, my hair still falls under almost all category types (3c around the shoulders with 1-2 straight locks which I manage to make wavy with scrunching, but mostly 3a-3b). I've spent way more money in products that I'd dare to admit without having found a styler and conditioners that work well together EVERY TIME. Yeap, every wash/interim co-wash day is a surprise! So, well, I'm basically going over infinite steps in a routine which awards me with only average results on day one..I'm currently running low on my 2 deep conditioners which I alternate, 1 for moisture and 1 as a protein treatment but I feel this is just a waste of money. I'm also low in my glycerin free co-wash/conditioner/leave-in conditioner (I have a thing with multipurpose products) so I'd like to experiment once more. Which brings me to the question: What would you suggest for a healthy moisture-protein balance, a treatment containing both (eg. SheaMoisture's high porosity masque: www.sheamoisture.com/mongongo-hemp-seed-oils-high-porosity-moisture-seal-masque.html), or a deep conditioner and stylers-conditioners with protein? Sorry for the massive comment, it felt like talking to a priest :)
