"Cry" is certainly one of my favorite pieces! This compilation video was awe-inspiring! I loved seeing it from all the different women. Everything was perfect. I really loved how this was put together. Alvin Ailey's choreography remains timeless!

Well that absolutely took my breath away and gave me chills. The first person I saw dance, "Cry" was Donna Wood. It was on PBS I think it was their, "Dance In America" series. The entire hour was Ailey Company. I remember seeing, "The Lark Ascending", "Night Creature", "Cry", and "Revelations". The first person I saw dance it in person was Renee Robinson. I remember hearing Judith Jamison say that every woman that dances it passes it on to the next. Also this video with the different women and settings made me think of Mr. Ailey saying, "For Black women everywhere. Especially our mothers."

WOW me too! Donna Wood on PBS and Renee Robinson live ... (we must be kids of the 70s) I've seen this piece so many times over the years and this video really makes the meaning so fresh and poignant true to the intent.
