Labour blamed Tories, Tories laughed. They were advised not to just ignore the size of the petition and to take onboard the feelings of the people. It was also suggested there was foreign influence in the petition. Labour said they were elected in biggest majority for however long while ignoring the fact that actually they didn't get that many votes really. Labour listed all their achievements things they'd done from the manifesto and that they will be ploughing on with the government of change that they were elected to be. As we all knew there will be no general election until starmer decides there will, no later than ( august 15th or somewhere round there of 2029) or before. This petition although large was never going to be big enough to do much, less people signed it than voted for reform so it's easy for the Labours to just say far right lot what do you expect. It needed to be at least 2/ 3 times or more bigger than it was.
