Yes I missed the days where killers were op, 4 people scaping was not something you saw everyday. Now even though you are 1v4, can't have a break at all in game like when survs do gens o totems or heal that just stand up doing practically nothing and have to account for everyone and everything or you just get outplayed. And then being called a cheater, camper, tuneller, etc if you win. And a baby, noob, please unistall, ez game, etc if you lose.

@@PastelRemix I always say it, but she's the template of a perfectly designed killer. Her power builds over time and is reliant on survivors making tough decisions (do I cleanse and give plague her power or do I risk it and potentially get downed in chase?), and is lethal when she has her corrupt puke so survivors have to play carefully. She has good mechanical skill needed to land her hits but it doesn't take a four year degree to learn her (see billy and Blight), and she can be fairly countered by survivors.

I still think map offerings shouldn't be in the game. Being able to force the opposing side to a map that benefits you is just stupid. It should be random for all, and if you happen to get a bad map for you, you at least know it's not the opposing side controlling it.

I think it should show the Survivor's offerings beforehand so you can at least throw up an appropriate counter. It'd also encourage more synergy with teammates when playing as Survivor, and prevent them from using conflicting offerings in solo queue. (Also prevent wasting Sacrificial Wards when there aren't any map offerings.) The twist is that, while the Survivors can't see the Killer's offering, the Killer can still see the Survivors'.

@@BoolianKazooka Because the devs either don't care about Killers or favor Survivors. Think about it; gen speeds have remained almost untouched, while Survivors get more and more perks that delay dying, and they can now have 16 delay/second chance perks per round (4 per Survivor & 4 Survivors). While gen speeds are still stupidly fast. And then Boon: Circle of Healing was made. Whatever brain trust at BHVR thought that up is clearly a Survivor main. But taking it all together, it is clear; BHVR only cares about Killers insofar as they need them to have a playable game. For everything else: It's Survivor bias.

The match at 14:30 kind of exemplifies how I feel about playing killer in the current meta - lower tier killers don't win matches, survivors lose them. Against 4 GOOD survivors with strong builds, solo queue or SWF doesn't matter, you can play as efficiently as possible but lower tier killers feel absolutely powerless without survs misplaying a decent amount or sweating so hard your hair turns grey. So many of my survivor games now end up with 1-2 hooks by the time all 5 gens are done and it literally feels like I did nothing, casual game, but from the killer POV I know they have to be STRESSED. I don't even bother playing killer anymore with how bad it's gotten.

If survivors bring their strongest shit no killer below A tier genuinely stands a chance unless the survivors make repeated mistakes, full stop. On a killer like Sadako you can and will struggle to end chases, and your first down will more than likely take more than 80 seconds, so bare minimum expect to lose 2 gens for first hook alone, and if you're lucky you can stop the third with your regression perks *if and only if* you make it there in time. Killers like Ghostface, for example, have nothing to help end chases, nothing to help them traverse the map, and nothing to keep the survivors off gens unless directly chasing them. How are you going to say my games should be close against strong toolboxes, medkits, Dead Hard, etc. when I have nothing comparable to bring as those killers?

@@BjorkBjork-y4b Otz is considered one of the better killer mains out there, the dude plays countless hours and in the second game he had 5 as the last gen popped but 2 of those were right as it was popping, the last game he had 6 but 3 of those were to a DC so the squad was running a 3 man (The Nea/Jake were cheating, but seeing the red light isn't on the level of speed hacks or vaults, it's still going to require competent play) and in the first he had 7 but had to HARD tunnel and then the survivors made wild mistakes thereafter. So yes, if you're getting 1-2 hooks before all 5 gens are done you're making some mistakes. But if Otz is only getting 3-5 while playing as hard as he can, a relatively small number of mistakes or even just "not being a piece of shit" and playing "fair" are enough to easily land someone in the 1-2 hook range on killers like Sadako. There's a huge issue in this game with how a team of survivors that know the importance of holding left click on gens and can just predrop pallets, an extremely simple set of rules, can require the killer to play extremely well and play "mean" to counter it. Yes, you have to be better than that to counter the absolute best killer players out there but a pretty mediocre squad following those rules is now easily shutting down the vast majority of killer players on all but the best killers.

When you're dealing with survivors that know how to run basic tiles or loops decently well or in some cases VERY well, and they have the strongest perks, M1 killers can get stuck taking minutes just to get even a single hit, let alone a down, depending on pallet spawns. This is why so many killers feel forced to play killers that have an easier time zoning or getting hits around pallets, like Nemesis or Huntress. Now add in the fact that majority of the maps are fucking huge, there is just no way for killers with no mobility to effectively defend their gens. I'm not gonna get into the "which side is stronger" debate, I'm just talking about my experience with the game after thousands of hours and calling it like I see it. The game only "worked" before this because you got a mixed bag of survivors that wouldn't always play efficiently. The game is just not balanced for killers to combat teams of 4 efficient survivors if you are not playing the strongest killers with the strongest perks. Majority of the time when I lose a game as survivor, it's because my teammates are just straight up not doing gens, or I'm not doings gens. How do I know? I run bond and kindred and can literally see their auras and I see people just standing around or crouching in a corner doing nothing. Or, they are just genuinely not that good or make mistakes and go down quickly. Those are the games I lose. Of course there are the occasional matches where a skilled Nurse or Blight or Huntress just dumpsters me, but those are few and far between. It genuinely feels like I have to go out of my way to lose as survivor against the weaker killers.

Quite literally why I can’t leave ole bubba. Reliable instadown when you really need to get someone out of the game. Chainsaw gives a little more speed to make it to a gen with seconds to spare. Chainsaw chomps through predropped pallets and creates huge late game deadzones. Plus if you really want quick chases, throw on bamboozle to blocks windows and you’re off to the races. Plus you can’t get bodyblocked when you’ve got a chainsaw.

@@djandjb1 As someone who's played since late 2017, the game just became a chore after mid 2020, everything meta was just mindless and boring and stress as killer has never ceased nor even dwindled since, if now somehow worse with boons. I haven't played since September and refuse to pick it up again till I see the game improve in balance, but given how long I've been with the game and seen BHVR's track record, that's highly unlikely.

I took about a half a year off fully in 2020, then played here and there 2021, I’m pretty much back on full force for now because I’ve enjoyed the DMS buff and scourge hooks as a mechanic (not so much boons) But I definitely play a lot more solo survivor than I used to (which IMHO is NO WHERE NEAR as stressful or difficult as killer at higher MMR). My individual contributions in solo games can have more impact than two whole others and we will still generally beat the killer, and if the MMR does what it’s supposed to eventually Solo will be almost indistinguishable from SWF as even the devs have stated it’s only about “15% higher” in escape rate

I'm thinking of playing again today but... last time i played the newest killer was pinhead and nemesis, I stopped because of really bad lag issues on xbox one and and no cross progression so if I wanted to get it fixed I'd have to grind and buy everything again. Honestly, I don't miss it much. I'd rather just watch but I love Ringu and I recently bought the xbox series x which should be good for lag. Truth be told this game is really really boring and the devs aresome of the most incompetent devs I've seen in a while, they're lucky their game has basically a monopoly on the dbd style but we play for the moments of fun.

One of my early Sadako games, I got a 4 stack who brought a Game offering and boons (loads of pallets, boons get double coverage because of the 2 floors). One had all 4 boon perks, and the other 3 had flashlights, ds, dead hard, etc. (and one other had circle of healing and shadow step to cover if the other one goes down or can’t keep her boon up). Just about every hook required me to down the survivor at least 2 or 3 times because every down had 3 possible outcomes: 1.) I pick up and they get a flashlight save (unless I get lucky and they mess up, which was not likely) 2.) I try to push away the flashlights, in which case the survivor picks themself up with Exponential. 3.) I remove the boon, which even though I knew where they were putting it took long enough that the survivor is back up thanks to having at least one teammate nearby to pick up with Circle of Healing. Needless to say, they were teabagging, clicking, etc. to brag about giving themselves every possible advantage. What fun.

Sadako, like Freddy, demonstrates the difference between coordinated and uncoordinated survivors. She will werck your whole team when you are solo queue or just playing casually with friends, but against coordinated survivors that are just trying to win she stands no chance.

Additionally, she healed herself 2 times in about 10-12s. Around 39:00 she get hit and, assuming that she had to scape for about 3s and starts healing, you see that in 10s she's healed. Even though otz is chasing Tapp and Jake is healed just before her (so he wasn't healing her)

Killer mains like myself simply don't enjoy the game anymore. In my last session I waited 40+ mins to get into a round only for RPD offerings, 3 people having toolboxes, one having a flashlight, all meta perks maxed out, and all Mikaelas. All gens were popped in 3 mins and 4 escapes. I got 1 hook.

Sounds like my last Nemesis game. Should have dodged when I saw 2 flashlights and 2 toolboxes but I didn't and walked into an RPD offering along with a lobby of Boil Over, Break Out, Flip Flop, 2 DH and 2 CoH. Their gameplay was to just swarm me when I got a down, bodyblock me in the narrow hallways until the combo of Boil Over got me stuck on stuff and Break Out did its thing. If I headed for the nearest hook it got sabo'd, but it's hard to see hooks on that map and BO hides the aura of the closest one so they didn't need to sabo all the time. Flashlights functioned as their back up; even if I injured them before going for the pick-up, in that time I'd chased to get the hit I had given the person on the ground time to build up the transfer of wiggle and then had 1 or 2 people looking for an angle to blind me while also being within range for their Break Outs to help their buddy. Add on top that none of the health states I inflicted would stick because of CoH and needless to say it was a miserable 25 minutes.

Besides that killer pallets shouldn't be broken anyway because they are basically just fillers (looking at you cowshed). They contained a good amount of safe windows and pallets, plus the survivors always got the gen in the upper floor for free, so a 3 gen was very unlikely.

The 10s heal that Nea did when Otz was coming down on Tapp was physically impossible since Jake was also healing himself. It’s mathematically impossible for Nea to run away, and self heal in 10s. Not to mention, Nea had the most perfectly timed DH at the second Otz attacked while not looking behind herself. But the first game, yes, very good survs. The other people, minus Tapp and Bill, were scummy losers.

I don't own Sadako, so I can't say for sure, but as a survivor, being inflicted with a pip of condemned after having at least one pip and are more than one away from being full seems to be exclusively beneficial to the survivors. It lets them know what TV she teleported to and lets them play around her power so much.

And I have no idea what they considered altered, the patch notes give barely any information, but I would have thought changing the files to see the red stain at all times to be something they should be able to detect.

I just fucking love Trickster’s lore and aesthetics. His power is super fun and his perks are cool and unique. I genuinely love playing him. That being said, I hate thinking that 2 sacs are amazingly good games because it’s literally impossible for me to 4K if the survivors know what they’re doing. I also love Deathslinger. He’s cool as shit. He has some anti-loop but after the nerf, his power is next to useless against a competent looper. I love pyramid head and he’s by no means lower tier. He’s great with denying Decisive Strike, Boil Over, Dead Hard, and Looping. He still doesn’t have the map pressure to deal with COH and competent survivors. It’s annoying when you’re forced to play the S and upper A tier killers to even have a chance at having a good game and it’s even more annoying that I’m forced to take the same 4 perks to overcome some killers’ lack of map pressure.

Honestly, this video pretty much showed why I haven't been playing killer much at all the past few months besides archive challenges. It just is not worth the stress and toxicity you get thrown at you for playing killer since gens fly by so quick unless you play in the most unfun way possible or survivors just make mistakes or play very relaxed/chill. Playing solo que survivor is way more fun/chill in comparison even if the matches don't go so well. Its probably at the worst it has ever been and has seriously made me consider just not playing killer anymore. Constantly running into the same survivor perks, constantly having survivors burn for the most survivor sided maps, etc. You actively get punished for playing anything other then the best killers and it just isn't fun anymore. Devs really need to come up with a way to shake the meta up for survivors without just introducing something busted like boons that require multiple nerfs until it becomes balanced again.

I think it's because people need to start sweetening up and stop trying so desperately to win and to play to just have fun. But unfortunately, most people's mindset doesn't have fun because they don't win. And that's fine, I feel the same way when I play Killer, but people saying that Onryo sucks specifically because she doesn't have any chasing power is extremely pathetic because half of the damn killers doesn't have a chase power. Plague doesn't have a chase power because she's spending too much time trying to infect survivors, which technically takes slower than just slapping them on their ass. Her corrupt Purge is the only form of chasing power she has which is useless against a lot of loops. But then there's a lot of killers that have massive chasing power, such as Deathslinger, who get put so low only because of his fricking ADS speed nerf it seems. You don't need chasing powers to win. Sadako doesn't need to be in indoor maps to win. You don't need to sweat your ass off to win. You don't even need to win. This isn't a competitive game, so why do people only have fun when they win or when the Survivors/Killer does something comedic? That's not fair. If people rely so much on winning to have fun, they shouldn't play video games imo. It's a severely toxic mindset.

DbD is often what I call an "arms race". All it takes is someone to run some strong addon, killer, item, perk, etc and it leads to a snowball effect where everyone is now running strong stuff to counter the strong stuff used against them last match that they feel lost them the game. The entire game just can't be taken seriously. I complained way back in 2017 about this, about how an arms race could form in this game at times, and comp MMR only exacerbated the issue and made it all the more apparent.

This is only true if you play the game to sweat and win, I believe MMR makes this worse, I usually play to just chill and get some points. I get tunneled by a Wraith and intentionally slugged to die in the end game, that's fine, tunneled by a Spirit and gets you out of the game in 4 gens? I'm cool. You don't usually get them all the time, only if you're unlucky enough to get loaded with same killer. LOL I still think it's more stressful to play as a killer, as a killer main myself, so when I secure a win fast, I would sometimes let one go. I once met a Myers who destroyed us with 3 gens remaining, 2 of us left and both of us are down, instead of just ending it there, he let us up to finish gens, he popped the gates open and he let us out. Nah when a sweaty killer shows up they just play the game get kills with a "just another day at the office." vibe to it. The most tryhard killers barely seem like they're having fun. I throw out a gg post game pretty much no matter when and almost every time they've just insta left and are on to the next game. When survivors are sweaty they edit every file under the sun "that isn't cheating YET", they macro tbags and flashlight clicks so it's even harder to hear, they're always talking shit in the post game lobby chat. Even when they four man escape in 5min, they will put you on blast for slugging 1 person at the hook you're defending AFTER all the gens are done. This game's toxicity is like 90% from the survivor side and devs encourage their behavior. When the survivors bm they lose nothing. When the killer slaps on hook and nods they could legit lose 2 gens off that. It's kind of funny that the serial killer is the role kept in a constant state of panic and the survivors are the ones who feel relaxed enough to waste time trying ruin others experiences with the game.

Not that it would fix the state of the game, but do you ever wonder how much of a less-stressful time killers would have if Dead Hard was removed from the game? I've seen that perk extend so many chases that I've lost count. It almost always adds at least an extra 20 seconds of chase time on average. In a game where every second counts, one good dead hard, or just being able to dead hard to the next pallet/window to extend the chase can be the difference between the killer maintaining some semblance of pressure, and losing the game outright and getting t-bagged at the exit. And then you get survs with inflated egos being toxic, thinking they're good at the game when they're being carried by meta perks like DH/DS/BT/Unbreakable. The 2nd chance perks have really cultivated a toxic/bullying atmosphere in the game and it's just sad to witness all the time, whether I'm playing or watching someone's stream.

Last tier list video I commented about Sadako deserving to be on a higher tier... but now I agree with her being where she is. If the killer got no chase power then it's pretty hard for them to be on a good tier because of how survivors can bully you and just do gens while you waste time on a long chase. Still unfortunate since her design and gameplay are pretty awesome.

This video is a pretty complete picture of the frustrations from killers about 1 year ago. I do have to say, it's actually fun to go through and see all the things they fixed (or at least neutralized) and thus are no longer problems anymore. Boon: Circle of Healing, Dead Hard, Spine Chill (almost forgot about that one!), and Medkits are examples; even Borrowed Time (being required) and Pain Res on Otz's side which were probably quite frustrating for the survivors. Now they just need to fix Toolboxes and Sadako herself and we can officially write this video off as a thing of the past! Still just think they should make it so she can go through pallets while demanafested and if she gets stunned (most likely by a pallet) she instantly manifests (with probably a longer stun), but honestly, like Otz says, any chase power will do; just give her *something*.

I’ve been playing the game for a long time and I’ve played on both sides (around 1,500 hours) and I think that medkits, flashlights, and tool boxes are survivors iridescent add ons in a sense. They should definitely be nerfed but in the sense of making them much rarer in the blood web. Iridescents are meant to be powerful and sort of unfair on killer and if those exist survivors should have their equivalent.

No. Most killer’s iri add ons get used less than greens and yellows because they simply aren’t good. Flashlights are fine but imagine if killers had an add on that let them unconditionally kill survivors on the hook 20% faster and then imagine if there were four killers on the same team who all brought that add on. There’s no counter play to medkits and toolboxes. Furthermore, Behaviour has nerfed all the op killer add ons and seems allergic to nerfing toolboxes or brand new parts.

Since the ring is the series that got me into horror I've been maining sadoka since she came out. And the biggest thing for me that kills sadako is the fact the tvs stay off for way too long compared to what they actually do which means most of the time you are just a failed child of wraith and spirit. And while I believe sadako easily has one of the best mindgame potential of all killers her tvs long cooldown stop her from being played at her full potential as a hit and run killer.

I’ve been a killer main since I started playing in the flesh and mud update and when boons were announced I was skeptical but I trusted that the devs knew what they were doing and that changes to the meta and giving survivors more to do other than just gens would never be a bad thing. However playing red ranks against cheaters, swf teams and boons/dead hard on every survivor has made the current meta miserable as a killer main. I still get wins and 4ks but even the games that I win on burn me out and make me not wanna play another. I have always found DBD the most fun when I can play weird builds on my favourite killers such as pyramid head and pinhead. But i’m currently stuck at rank 1 where if I don’t play my nurse or blight gonna have a bad time and struggle to keep my MMR. So for the first time in years i’m maining survivor against try hard blights and nurses who I honestly feel bad for and respect when they proxy to confirm a kill.

One change, that I think would push Onryo up in the ranks and would be a fun mechanic, would simply to allow her, in the manifested state, to be able to walk-through pallets and dropping pallets wouldn't affect her. I feel like this video perfectly encapsulates how if you aren't playing a top tier killer and running the best perks, you're basically asking to have a miserable match. It feels like creative and fun builds have gone out the window for both sides, because you're either griefing your teammates if you aren't running the best perks on survivor or are about to spend multiple minutes chasing one survivor while 3 gens pop if you pick something off-meta on killer. And that's not even touching on subtle cheaters, poor sportsmanship, etc. Honestly I'm think I'm done with dbd for a while until the game gets to a healthier place, games are meant to be fun and there are points playing dead by daylight where I'd literally rather be at work than playing some of the matches I get stuck in.

I faced a killer last night that was supposedly a "bot" program (or so it declared in the endgame chat) that was pretty clearly seeing me through walls and corn at great distances. It literally had a TTV username, and when I looked into it more, they also had a hack that insta kills everyone right once the final gen completes. They've been streaming these types of games for 4 days, 12 hour streams. If such blatant hackers aren't being stopped, then it feels like we have almost no protection against these people. It really disheartened me from playing, and it may lead to me taking a break from the game for a while.

I really felt this playing on Trickster today. Prestiged him a while back, and so I'm currently still rebuilding my perks on him. Had one kill going into gates powered and only got a 3K because of someone deciding to try and basement rescue after the gates were opened. Was running jolt, corrupt, starstruck, and no way out.

Lol that’s funny I run Thrilling Tremors, Starstruck, Iron Maiden, and Jolt on him. Especially with his Iridescent Add-on, it’s fun to have Exposed most of the time on survivors. And of course I take Jolt and Thrilling Tremors for what little slow down and map awareness I can get. I’ve been consistently getting 2-3k with it. I think that’s pretty good for Trickster lol

Good luck, try not to focus on kills/escapes and just slowly learn the game. You can go into match with small but clear targets like "I want to learn this map so I will just focus on main building and try to find and remember possible paths" or "I want to improve looping so I will ignore gens and just loop until I down the first person I saw and repeat until game is over" or "I want to learn how the other side plays so I will put a lot information perks and try to see paterns"

This is what frustrates me in the game. I would just like to know when I'm getting destroyed that I got destroyed by a good team and good players. Now I'm just thinking "well these profiles are private and this is a sketchy legacy, those gens were too fast,so they're probably cheating". It's horrible how much that creeps into your mind and gaslights you. Then the MMR system's "stomp or be stomped" approach makes you feel like you have to bring the strongest stuff to try and compete with the high-tier players only to then kill some poor team running smash hit and fun lithe builds. The current balance makes me sad.

I think Sadako's biggest weakness is that she absolutely needs Iri Videotape. Without it you'll teleport once or twice, survivors will turn off all your tvs and you're stuck without a power for the next 3 minutes

I almost went insane last night. I was in iridescent 4 with 4 points playing my main, Oni. Last 2 seasons I had no trouble reaching iridescent 1 with Oni when tryharding, but last night I could barely kill 1 survivor in 4 consecutive matches. I was playing so damn well but everytime I was sent either to Gideon Meat Plant or Badham Preschool. What saved me were the 800k bp which got me 14 offerings that counter map offerings and I ended up ranking up to iridescent 2. Ben playing for a year now and I swear that in my almost 20 matches I have played last night, there have been 5 games in which I couldn't hook more than twice in a game. I felt so useless after these games considering that I have 400+ hours on Oni. Moreover, I have counted how many people did not have dead hard and ds paired in the same game. In 18 games, only 3 of them didn't have them both, out of which only 1 didn't have either of them...

I haven't played dead by daylight for a while but have almost 1k hours so i don't thoroughly understand the new meta but I wonder whether the devs could make it that the survivors could only take 1 of a class of item (Item classes being Flahlights, Toolboxes, Medkits etc...) this means that the survivors can't take 4 toolboxes or 4 flashlights and could balance those prove thyself gen-rush builds whilst also keeping them as a viable tactic.

i really dont think its the aesthetics and movement. its the licenses. wanting it or not, they are one of the driving forces that made DBD be a lot more know to people, and that retain a part of them. and some of them are really well done, hell, a LOT of people wanted to play as nemesis for a loooong time, and then the opportunity gets presented at DBD. also, yes, fixing it would upset a part of the players, but it would lead to a way better retention of newcomers and old players a like. Lots of old players stopped because of the problems, and newcomers doesnt get the chance to learn before getting stomped.

Play with your food and/or save the best for last have been working well for me, mainly STBFL. Play with your food for the chase and STBFL because it helps deal with body blocking which is something that Sadako really can't deal with. I've tried running the Make your Choice build and I've had more total headache than success. Sadly Sadako is a character that heavily relies on shareable perks at higher levels.

Thank you for putting this video out. Having grinded her out to P3 Lvl 50 with all her best rated perks I can very much relate to this. When I initially started with her and for a long time after I was getting 4ks back to back with her. Played her pretty fair against mixes of casual and experienced survivors. Chased survivors evenly and made good use of her map pressure and stealth. Probably got a 30 win streak or something ridiculous with usually an average of 2 very decent loopers per game. But even while I was dominating them at that level I could tell that once my MMR peaked with her, my games were going to become miserable. And then it happened... I started being paired with averages of 3-5k+ hours always running DH,DS,UB,BT across the team with the best items and the games became horrible sweat fests against perfect looping survivors and forcing me to play nasty. I endured... I remained commited to getting her to P3-50 with optimal perks. However almost every match from that point I felt forced to turn to a vicious return to hook & tunnel or MYC playstyle to even try balance the game in my favor. I really don't want to play like that and then have to explain myself in endgame chat when I get questioned WHY DID U TUNNEL ME BRO? My initial concerns around her at release were confirmed and my conclusion reached is that playing an M1 hit-and-run oriented killer with no chase power at high MMR is just simply not viable. Teleporting & stealth is mostly useless as everyone at that level knows the audio cues and grindy sounds when demanifested as she approaches. You don't even need spine chill at that stage to know shes coming. I wanted to prove myself wrong. That Dowsey was right in recognizing her A tier potential... But you can only endure so much miserable matches before accepting the facts. At high MMR you're probably better off playing trapper.... RIP Sadako. Was fun while it lasted sweetheart.

From my experience I find that opening up with a hit and run playstyle then adjusting to the survivors play style is the best. For example, if there are two or more med kits then I know I can't abandon chases after a hit lightly. Circle of healing is variable depending on how many and how efficiently a team uses them. But if a team's healing is low then I can comfortably hit a person, break a pallet or two then be off to defend gens with a teleport. Repeat the process until chases become harder for survivors than you. Once the bulk of pallets are gone it dosent matter how good a survivor is if there's no resources around. So yeah, she is pretty slow burn in terms of reaching full efficiency. Compounded by the fact there are measures survivors can take to outpace her. Toolboxes, med kits spine chill, CoH. It isn't hard for survivors to hurt or overtake your building pressure.

Otz, here are my rules for playing as Onyro: Onyro plays somewhere between wraith and hag. 1. Stay demanifested until you are ready to M1. Add a Distorted Photo to make survivors scream as you manifest (blocks the pallet stun for a second). 2. Become a teleporting fool, avoiding the in-chase except if you know the survivor is in that next television's range. I run the iri-tape add-on. My core build is: pop+jolt+call of brine. 4th perk alternates between blood warden or spies of the darkness (surprisingly good on her). My style: Teleport, start the chase for a hit within 8s, deman and drop chase, spies go off, teleport and get the surprise down hit.

TLDR: So, after watching this video, it feels like a perfect example of why I've been enjoying single player games FAR more than multiplayer games the past couple years. From toxic players that are either unnecessarily rude or cheating (and yes, altering your config files to gain an advantage IS cheating), to both sides complaining to raging that builds or perks or items or skills are super unfair. I have to point out, that after the... 85ish hours I've played DBD, and the hundreds of hours I have watched Otz play this game, I feel my initial feeling that survivors, especially survive with friends have a big unfair advantage. But, that's a loose opinion, I'm not experienced enough to say 100% for sure either way, but I think I'm right. I feel that the overwhelming majority of multiplayer games, DBD being the biggest culprit of the mentality of "You didn't play in a way that maximized MY fun, so F*** Y**!!!!" I know that this comment triggers an urge to respond with "Welcome to the internet, HURR!", but while it's true online communities have always had their share of toxic people. DBD was the straw that broke the camels back for me on not really enjoying multiplayer anymore. I really do like DBD a lot, but I can't stomach playing it. I've basically just been watching Otz play when I have a DBD itch to scratch. But when videos like this pops up, it brings that sense of Multiplayer Melancholy with it. It's a sad feeling. :(

I think the hardest thing for me to get used to is just try to relax more as a killer because it is crazy stressful panic mode all the time and I find that when I just chill more I actually make less mistakes and end up having fun no matter what. Easier said than done for sure but just trying to practice a more calm mindset definitely helps.

Ive always liked Sadako as a character, years before she was put into Dead by Daylight, so her inclusion into this game really had me thinking that she was the breath of life that would make DBD genuinely fun for me again. However that simply wasn't the case at all, and actually turned out to be the complete opposite. While her sound design, special effects and moris are really cool and fun to experience; her gameplay is just so disheartening. I REALLY wanted to like playing as Sadako, but consistently getting gen rushed, pallet stunned, blinded and looped just isn't fun. Boons, Dead Hards, and Brand New Parts are all just too much for me to handle and juggle. I honestly regret climbing to red ranks. My least favorite moments in the game are when I'm halfway through a match and I know I already lost, because at that point why am I still even playing? I've lost basically all faith that anything is actually gonna change for the better.

You need to start demanifesting in chase, right after you hit them the first time. You get access to so many great mindgame opportunities, like at that first loop you’d be able to phase right by the pallet without being seen and approach from behind the Nea. Or, you could’ve waited at the corner and got a bit of extra distance with a well timed phase. I can’t emphasize enough how confusing this killer is when demanifested if you know what you’re doing.

Then manifest during the rotating part of the loop and use the transition phase to secure the hit. If they hold forward, warp ahead and get them head on. Not saying she’s easy by any means.

Like demanifesting just when you get into a pallet is an easy signal that you’re wanting to mindgame, so the survivors can prepare. But if you’re already demanifested you can immediately take unexpected angles and there’s so many possibilities that it’s super hard for survivors to guess exactly where you’re coming from

I think this is why I enjoy the game less now and have drifted away. Survivor role is literally to play the game as little as possible. Quick in, no mistakes, 1 man 1 gen in and out. Of course that's not every game, however this and all the meta perks "required" to play. I just don't love playing hours on end anymore

Honestly I had a lot of success playing as Sadako, I ran BBQ, Tinkerer, Her storm perk ( Can't remember the name) and NOED. I very rarely needed to use NOED and honestly swtched it out for other perks quite frequently. I know this is kind of a sweaty build but she can be strong. bbq to see where they are (Teleport to them) Tinkerer for no terror and invis is pretty OP. and if you get to the gen that popped tinkerer when they get it to 90% the storm perk pops when you scare them off of it.

Game's meta state relies too much on add-ons/perk interactions and if you aren't a NEET or a streamer, you aren't going to have either of those things because of how the bloodweb works. I planed on going for rank 1 as killer for my first time next season. Not because I want to show that I'm good or idk what - I want every steam achievement. But I keep getting genrushed, I don't really have perks against gens and I feel extremly stressed when playing. This would probably wear off, but I'm not in on playing another 400h just as Killer this time. Glad to see someone who actually has a voice in the community finally talking about how frustrating playing killer in this game can be. This is just how most of my matches go, of course, not to the same extent. People normally don't bring items, just a few meta perks like dead hard and often decisive, but just the way that survivors play so defensively is so hard to get around. Sure, when the game gives me people of my actual skill level I do okay, normally 2k-4k when I am at the top of my game, but the MMR system for some reason does not prioritize plays having fair matches, I do not know what is wrong with it, but I rarely get people I actually consider to be of my skill level. I'd say 60% of matches are people too far above my level for me to handle, 10% are people too low to be challenging, and probably around 30% are fair matches that feel fun and earned. I understand that a lot of people became killer mains before MMR, but it just feels impossible to increase my skill level at this game when I run into so many roadblocks and don't have too much time to put into the game each day.

I like chasing them while de-materialized and pushing them toward one of the tvs and then teleporting there ahead of them. Fun seeing them freak out and gives you a chance to hit them while they're panicked. Then de-materialize and do it over again. Works pretty well with me.

The thing you have to consider for new players like me is that we don't have all the killers, we don't have all the perks, nor do we have the time and dedication to learn how to play good with what we have. The grind for DBD is huge and abysmal, I for one only bought it to play killer because I thought that would be fun but I bought it when the Stanger Things sale was going on and played it for a bit and then when boons got added it sucked so much for me I decide that it was clearly a game that will go downhill. I love you Otz and I get enjoyment out of watching your videos but you are playing a dying game and the devs can talk all they want about fixing it but truth is that with the way they talk and act it really seems like they have no clue why their community hates them so much.

If i had got the game now (as in starting from zero) i would probably have dumped it in the trash if i did not have friends to play with, because that is exactly where it belongs since it is just horrible for a new player to get into. The horrible grind, many perks locked behind a paywall, lack of balance, outright hostile mechanics that is stacked against new players/low levels (Lack of experience combined with not even having 4 perk slots unlocked, lvl 1 perks, brown addons at best, a ridiculous amount of grind to get something that is half decent). When putting it like this, it is clear why this game is dying fast since the old ones get tired of lack of balance and QoL, and the new ones don´t stick around because it is not fun to get rammed over and over again because of things mostly outside your control that you can not realistically change in a reasonable amount of time.

But how can they buff Sadako, though? They really messed up when making an M1 killer when CoH exists. Don't understand the people that asked for a killer without a "boring" Anti-Loop ability/power. It's impossible to make a killer that has nothing for countering loops now that boons are a thing. I'm happy that nowadays the devs are actually trying to listen to their community and are doing some things that actually matter, not just giving Nurse the third blink, while still nerfing Pig. I hope that patch 5.7.0 will have great changes to al killers, not only to Legion and Ghost Face, because BTW, 5.7.0 sounds like something promissing. Hope they don't mess up even more.

COH is still really strong, sure it isn’t as strong as before but bringing 1 additional perk(botany knowledge) makes it the same healing speed as before. 83% healing speed. Not mentioning survivors can bring beefy Medkits.

They have to buff condemn. If you're not in chase you will not interact with onryo. It's the case for a lot of killers. Strong killers either have good global pressure or ignore chase. If you have to use perks to assist in either aspect you struggle.

It won't be enough for sure, but let's be honest, we all know that they are capable of doing something better than a green add-on that makes the survivors oblivious if they are in a 16 meter range of a TV. The Devs treated Sadako so bad, and it's VERY upseting. Could've done so many good stuff when getting the license for such an intresting character like her, but they just made Wraith 2.0 with some teleportation once in 100 seconds. In my humble opinion, they already should be thinking about a complete re-work for Onryo, 'cause if they are gonna keep her like that, people will slowly realize that she doesen't even deserve her spot in the C tier.
