Seun it seems you are not getting what Ex. Governor Fayose is saying about your past will come back to hunt you. When the present actors in the party abandoned the party and the then President Jonathan in order to get rid of him to favor former President Buhari coming in little did they know that they will need to come back to use the platform of the party. But for the few who stood their ground swallowed the shame of their party's failure that was orchestrated by the likes of Atiku etc. Without these people keeping the party together there would not have been a PDP today.

I am not too sure why PDP members turn their backs against the root cause of the crisis in the party. PDP was able to run its affair after the 2019 elections after Atiku lost to Buhari. The NWC chairman then was duly elected based the party's constitution and then came the 2022 primary of the party when the issue of who the party's candidate should be for the 2023 general elections, up till this time the party was fine with no crisis. Every Nigerian party members or no party members expected the party to zone the candidacy to the north since the out going president of the country was from the northern party of the country the sensible approach would have been to look up to someone from the south until someone who has been out of the country for almost two came back to change the normal practice of the party and fought to make sure the long standing rule of the party were changed. Some members of the party bought into it and some did not. This was the beginning of the crisis in the party. Everyone knew that this gave birth to the G Five because of their position in this matter. When someone from the north became the party's presidential candidate there were demands by some members to change the NWC chairman to be in compliance with the party's constitution, Nigerians witnessed how that went. Even the winner of the primary refused to support the demands made to elect someone else in the south as the NWC Chairman. In all of these the reaction of the G5 was ignored by the party all through the campaign and the election day. Whether the PDP members accept it or not, the outcome of the election result was a reflection of a disunited party and that is what is playing out today with the party. The members that opposed the manner the presidential candidate emerged and the request to remove the NWC Chairman were never reconciled with the rest members of the party up till today. What is happening with the party at the national level is what trickle down to Rivers State where you have crisis between those that support one of the G 5 Governors then and those that supported the presidential candidate of the party. There was unity as to who the members should vote for on the governorship election but not on the presidential level. The presidential candidate who lost the election who should volunteered to bring the party together after the confusion caused in the presidential election is busy talking about the merger of the party with other party's to definite the ruling party in 2027 instead of addressing the crisis in the PDP. Winning is his goal and hence all is efforts and focus are on criticizing the ruling party with less interest in solving the disunity he created in the party since 2022. Governor Fayose is an upright member of the party and hence he speaks the truth. How can you be an effective opposition leader when you cannot address the crisis in your own party. This same individual who served eight years as the Vice President in the country recently wrote the national assembly to make suggestion amongst other thing to set a six year one term for the presidency and yet the crisis in the party is what should be the focus now. Honestly, PDP as a party is operating in fear and the crisis will continue to be deepened.

In my opinion, the current unprecedented rigging of elections by APC in the country is responsible, and not necessarily that the voters are against the PDP. After all, the APC economic policies have failed, and are creating enormous hardship in the country.
