Wow, I don’t think I’ve heard this song. Thought I had heard them all, at least I thought all. I’m sure there’s many I haven’t & just haven’t realized. Thank you for choosing this specific one. Always nice to hear Ren especially one I haven’t heard.

I know in his chapters of his sickness, he said when he was misdiagnosed they prescribed him medication that would keep him up and wouldn't let him sleep. Then as he got older and the pain got worse, the pain wouldn't let him sleep

So glad your reacting to this. It's one of my favorite poetic tracks of his. 🎉. When he says my sanctuary can be a prison, one of the meanings is that his bedroom, normally a sanctuary for most people, a place of rest, has become a prison for him as he was bedridden at that time with immense pain, brain fog and many other problems from the Lyme. The trauma your referring to is something Ren often speaks about. In 2015, shortly before he was finally diagnosed correctly, he fell into the psychosis he writes about in his music so often. This seems to be the worst of what he went through, the scariest for sure and what gave him PTSD. ❤
