In all the Japan travel I've done in the last 8 years, I've NEVER seen a place like the Oki Islands. Wild horses, rugged cliffs, crystal clear water and waterfalls over temples. Literally, what else could you want! Had so much fun here and highly recommend it to nature and off-the-beaten-track lovers!

Visiting Japan and want to experience something different? You'll love my travel guide - Beyond The Tourist Trail which is a comprehensive e-book for travellers filled with 120+ hidden gems in Japan between Tokyo and Osaka. Available now on my website: geni.us/beyond...

I'm Japanese, and I knew that Oki Island had horses unique to the island, but this was the first time I'd seen it on video. Thank you for showing us your video work about your very beautiful and wonderful island✨✨✨ I really like your videos about nature in Japan and New Zealand.☺️

It's cuz Japan is a long country. They aren't wide, but long. Even though they are similar in area to Germany, the longer nature of Japan from North to Okinawa, gives them a variety of climates, from cold in Hokkaido to Tropical paradise which is Okinawa.

Oki islands old favorites of mine. Wife’s family (on mother’s side) all from there. Noshinoshoma my preference by far. Easily some of the best sea kayaking and snorkeling in Japan in those islands. Go. For sure.

whoa, that was stunning! if it weren't for the ocean and the greenery giving such tropical vibes in the drone shots (which were jaw-dropping), i would've thought the cliffy coasts were straight outta Ireland or the UK or something (Norway, is that what Norway looks like?? hahaha). what an insanely gorgeous spot; thank you for showing it to us! anyway, i know where i'm going when i retire. i'll be the old white lady who slinks into town to buy a 20-lb bag of rice before disappearing again to my remote cottage overlooking the sea, thanks.

If you asked one of those guys that create landscapes for videogames to design some islands that would be fun to fly around on a FPV VR simulation, they might come up with something like the Oki islands. Beautiful, thanks guys 🙏

Yes, it looked great. Oh, and petting wild horses while on a paddock overlooking some incredible coastal cliffs is *[⊙⊙]** (particularly for those of us that never got to pat one 😔. Nice work with the pixelation too, although at 1st I was thinking of the wrong reason for it... 😏 )

Beautiful! When you posted the first images of those meadows by the sea, I was genuinely mystified about how the grass could stay that short... *Of course* it was grazed! Mind you, I grew up around grazing sheep and cows 😅. The sheep grazing the dikes in the Netherlands are nice too, but we can only dream of these kinds of hills and rocks! Love it!

It is easy to distinguish between temples and shrines. The 「Trii」⛩ gate you passed through is proof of the shrine.Thank you for discovering a place that most Japanese people have never been to. Oh, and of course, if you want to touch a horse, we recommend that you greet them in Japanese and ask for permission in advance.😊❤
