The hardest part with in-ear mix in our services is I don't really have the time to tweak it til its perfect. I can't play guitar during practice and hold my phone and adjust sliders at the same time. So I generally just quickly set myself as the loudest, then the piano, the click, and the singers turned up moderately high as well. Next comes the guide, and the ambient. I still wind up pulling one ear out or I feel too isolated. I rarely turn up drums at all, as I can hear them easily. After that, I'll make small tweaks to these channels, but I don't go back and mess with the others much. I will try turning the bass up louder in the future.

John Nichols you got it man. I usually leave my iPad open during all of practice to adjust between songs and sometimes during some. I know we’re always moving in practice but there’s definitely time to spare to get our mixes from good to great.

Where is a Part 2?! I am with John Nichols.... There is a reason a live sound tech brings the band in one at a time in wedges. It is hard to play and adjust.... while everyone else is doing the same!
