I agree with Travis Stock. I am an EMT and Army Combat Medic. That tourniquet would save your life but as he said it is two thin, something thicker will work better. Also I wanted to point out that you wrapped it around different parts of your arm. When you have a band that cuts of your circulation in two spots with an area in between then you can cause compartment syndrome, which is pretty damaging. So anytime using any kind of tourniquet I would suggest making sure there is no area in between. I use the SOF-T in my aid bag along with some CATs. They aren't hard to use but can sometimes be troublesome if you do not practice enough. SO practice practice practice. It'll only save you. But in my opinion a good ole ratchet strap that's cut down to an easily manageable size is the best tourniquet; easy to use and holds tight, also has a wide enough belt. Not telling you this specifically, but just putting general information out there for anyone.

I am dying to get one of these boxes! I've always liked the idea of subscription boxes, but none of them were ever appealing enough to pop on one. Until now that is... If only I could convince my soon 2b wife that it's a necessity and can be used for a wedding?...probably not.

great reviews new to EDC's etc and survival packs so getting alot of good info on what I need , here in New Zealand we dont have the survival or other type boxes but enjoy your reviews all the same had a good lookabout the place and garage and surprised at the little bits and pieces I been putting away over the years that can be of good use , all ready got together some small tins with tinder, fishing gear, bit of a first aid kit other bits and pieces , sent away for my first fire flint so eagerly waiting to start making fires lol cheers for the vids so much to learn always been interested in the outdoors and did alot camping when I was younger so its a real buzz to take the leap into getting serious about a survival pack, I'm a female in my late 40's so never to late to learn

Digging the videos man just ordered the box, kinda just checking out previous boxes. Did want to point out though, if anyone did receive the tourniquet, learn how to use it properly. You can do a lot of damage if you use it improperly. You can even kill someone by removing it after a certain length of time.

Only thing with the RAT tourniquet I would say(as a medic) to make sure it is not wrap it so small. meaning wrap it in a 2 finger or 2 inch wide area. Anything less then that would act like a garrote and in a small time frame cause more damage to the body. Whatever you do, please DON'T EVER use the snake bite kit for its intended purpose! It's a good way to end up dead. I'm not a medical practitioner, but I am CPR/First Aid Certified and this is one of the first things they always tell you at the beginning of the classes since we live in an area where rattlesnakes are common. Everything in their little instruction booklet is guaranteed to make the problem WORSE, not better!
