Your criticism would be fair, if it was for a band that would actually take themselves serious. Alestorm is just making songs that are good to sing-a-long, and get drunk on. they even admit it themselves, and people still like it.

As a pretty big Alestorm fan, I love their absurdity and simple sing-along choruses. But the song writing wasn't as strong with this album. Hope you feel better soon, man! PS: I'll take the midi version of the album over the ridiculous Alestorm for dogs they put out on the last deluxe version. PPS: your reviews always make me hungry 😭

I'm really enjoying the new backdrop. Otherwise, I am so sorry about your health. I'm really bad about talking about my health and I feel like I've generally just really not been interested in talking to people. I've always had issues with depression, anxiety, and many other things of the sort. As a result of that, I'm a closed book. Whenever things go wrong in my world or I let even the slightest hint of my mental health slip people are just shocked because I seem so giddy, bubbly, and generally very positive. It's really sad to say this, but I feel like quarantine hasn't impacted me at all. If anything, it's just made me have less time to have to worry about keeping up a bit facade and masquerade. With that being said, I really hope you end up feeling better soon. This'll all be over soon enough and hopefully then it'll all fade away. Excited to watch your review. It's funny that we're dropping our Alestorm reviews on the same day (yours will considerably be ahead in terms of hours up, though haha) curious to hear your thoughts. :)

I love the record, they’re just having fun and not taking themselves seriously. And saying it’s not the type of band you would sit back and drink brandy to makes sense, because it’s more like party music, not something you sit down to analyze and immerse yourself in

It'd be foolish of anyone to argue that Alestorm is anything other than party music, something I concede to as well here, I guess I'm just tired of this PARTICULAR party. But hey man, if you're aren't then more power to ya.

Oh, no. 😔 My mental health was very bad, too. I was attacked by flashbacks. I saw Alestorm last November, and it was a lot fun! The giant, rubber ducky was hilarious! I haven't heard the album yet, but everything you said sounds awesome to me. Lol However, it doesn't bother me that you dislike the album. You know me; I don't like it when people hate you for not liking what they like. I think that's childish. We'll see if I enjoy it or not. Cheers! 🥃🍻 P. S. Take care of yourself! I use to love Alestorm, the first three album were cool. But they became a band for drunk people wearing unicorn costume during those big summer metal fair festival. They know it and they play the game. I'm tired of this kind of band, because this is not how I love "my metal". Once again, it's a good point I do not understand all the lyrics without reading... BUT, as silly the band is, I know I'll still enjoy the live shows...

The negativity in alot if your reviews is disappointing. Alestorm is extremely fun and wild. They have fun and that's what music is all about. Shame your so bias and not fun.
