Curse of the Forsaken Classic is an upcoming update for my Warcraft 3 Curse of the Forsaken custom campaign. This campaign continues the Forsaken's story after the end of the Frozen Throne, leading into a re-imagined story of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. This update will make the campaign fully compatible with the most recent version of Warcraft 3: Reforged, but with classic graphics.
Some of the major changes include:
Refreshed and updated chapters, with two fully revamped, including Azjol-Nerub.
Expanded, updated and revamped factions, including whole new Scarlet Crusade, Kirin Tor and nerubian factions.
Overhauled AI player system, ensuring consistent and reliable computer players.
Updated storytelling and cinematics with some new additions from World of Warcraft.
New side quests with unique item rewards, and more.

How long will it take you to finish the update?
I hope to finish it by the first half of 2025.
Will you make a Reforged version of your campaigns?
No, I have no plans to do that.
Can I reforge your campaigns?
No, I am not interested in creating Reforged versions of my campaigns.
Will you add AI voices to the campaign?
No, I have no intention of using AI voices.
Will you also update Rise of the Blood Elves?
Most likely not. I intend to focus on my own original writing after this update.
Will you make a new campaign?
No, my interest in Warcraft 3 custom campaigns does not extend beyond my two campaigns.

Take vengeance - here is the first preview trailer of Curse of the Forsaken Classic! For those who are not in my Discord server, I have so far finished nine out of twelve chapters included in this campaign, and I will - I HOPE - finish the whole thing by the end of 2024. This has turned out to be an enormous project, but with this update the campaign has also taken something of a different meaning for me. Sylvanas has always been one of my favorite characters in fantasy overall - dark, complex, ruthless - and is a major reason why I started to create my campaigns, and later my own stories. After the way her story ended in Shadowlands, Curse of the Forsaken has become something of a way of preserving who she really was and what made her story so compelling. To me, this is the definitive story of Sylvanas Windrunner. I hope you will enjoy it. ☺

Rise of the Blood Elves was the first custom campaign I ever played, and curse of the forsaken was a really good conclusion to the story. I didn't think it was possible to do better than version 3.0 in terms of gameplay (it's still one of my favourite tech tree out of any warcraft 3 campaign) or cinematic, and I cannot wait to be proven wrong !

When you are done with CotF, are you going to do Rise of the Blood elves? In a custom remake of that campaign, the creator added in a buff and debuff system, depending on how much mana the elves had. I can't remember the creators name, but Jayborino did a play thru of it. That would make a very interesting mechanic to the your custom campaign.

A few things are more in line with WoW. But in general it will still remain as it was. The battle for the Undercity still happens earlier.

Yes, you'll just need to switch to classic graphics. That can be ingame in the options menu.
