The commercial about eating vegetables is from Thailand. The woman is a spirit in Thai folklore known as Krasue. There are similar versions of this spirit across Southeast Asia, like the Ahp in Cambodia, Penanggalan in Malaysia, Kuyang in Indonesia, Manananggal in the Philippines, and Ma lai in Vietnam. Krasue is a disembodied head that flies around with her internal organs and is constantly hungry and much like the Western vampire, she feeds off blood but will eat on poop or dead animals. This creature functions like a werewolf whereby the head detaches at night and goes on a rampage and before daybreak it needs to reattach itself to its body. The Osram commercial on the other hand is from Indonesia (the light bulb says Indonesia and the commercial says "Spesialis bohlam" meaning bulb specialist in Indonesian). The commercial is based on an Indonesian pun since OSRAM sounds like "Oh, seram" (Oh, scary) hence why they scream the name. As the end of the Osram commercial states, Osram is a German company. The name is derived from osmium and Wolfram (German for tungsten). Both elements were commonly used for lighting filaments at the time the company was founded.

Someone else posted this name 'Krasue' for it, and I never heard it called a Krasue before. A very quick and cursory look online shows the same information for a Penanagglan as it does for a Krasue. Do you (or does anyone else) have any information if the names came from different areas, time periods, or are they perhaps two different myths that somehow feature a similar entity? I apologize for posting a similar comment in two places, but my curiosity has been sparked and I'm very curious about the Krasue version.

The jumpscare commercial is about the Latin American version of the Bogeyman known as "El Coco". El Coco tells the kid that since he's not going to eat his food, he's going to kidnap him, as the story of El Coco is that he punishes/steals kids who disobey their parents, or in this case, not finish their food. The joke the commerical made is that since the mother's cooking is so bad, El Coco takes her away for misbehaving because she gave her son a terrible dinner. And according to the commerical, if you buy the book they showed at the end, your cooking won't suck and El Coco won't take you away! Lol XD Edit: I have received some replies that give a different name to the creature, like Cucuy or Cuca, and while the name may vary from place to place it’s still the same concept/myth. It’s found in all Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries.

To explain what was going on in that commercial where the woman's head came off her body while she was proving she doesn't eat vegetables; she was a penanggalan or penanggal, which is a nocturnal vampiric entity from Malay ghost myths. It takes the form of a floating disembodied woman's head, with its organs and entrails trailing from its neck. From afar, the penanggalan is said to twinkle like a ball of flame, similar to the will-o'-the-wisp phenomenon. So, actually, this fit the Halloween video, perfectly, because she was basically a Mystics in Bali styled vampire. Love the chanel, Chad.

Thank you for showing that Garfield commercial to the world. Cartoon Network ran that one all the time when I was a kid and it terrified me to pieces, I had nightmares about it, especially because it started airing right around the same time that William Hanna died so you'd have this super sad bumper of cartoons mourning his loss immediately followed by creepy Garfield pretty often. Really scary! That said, I also think it's one of the best things the local Latin American animation team produced, it's so expressive, just a shame they terrified kids in the process.

That first commercial at the beginning of this episode is actually based on a penanggalan, a famous southeast Asian cryptid that drags its organs around. It’s weak to barbed wire because it tears up its organs causing mass bleeding. It also loves vinegar. Like, a lot.

That was the name, thank you. I was wondering about that. I know I've seen one of these before in a cryptid or monster video floating around on here. I think I recall that this was either from Indonesia or Singapore. I forget it has been a while. But I definitely recall its home is somewhere in the South East Asian area.
