Slam fire isn't that nice, in my opinion. You just change the trigger from the finger to the movement of the pump. It messes with accuracy, and I like having control on when the round goes out. When accuracy does not matter, I get it... but accuracy matters every other time.

A pump-action weapon actually makes sense as a suppressor host. Semi-auto weapons unlock while there's still pressure in the chamber and are therefore always louder. Pumps will also cycle low power subsonic ammo that semi-autos can't because there isn't enough gas pressure to push the semi bolt carrier all the way back.

@@petesheppard1709 Sadly no, I’m the 1988 revision to the UK’s NFA it explicitly bans pump action rifles, the only exceptions being .22R (usually interpreted to mean .22 LR, but theoretically any .22 bullet fired with a rim fire primer) and any shotguns. This was done as it was believed that pump action weapons could fire roughly as fast as semi autos, and these are what the act targeted after a “scary” type 56 was used in hungerford, only leaving .22R semis and semi shotguns legal. Which is a bit hypocritical as you could argue that a .410 slug is more lethal than a 5.56 round and the former can still be fired semi from a legally owned weapon as opposed to the illegality of the latter. The whole thing is stupid.

Ah yes, the "Californian compliant" AK. Funny story related to bolt-action guns that should be semi-auto, when I bought the parts for my first AR-15, I managed to get it fully assembled and took it out to the range for the very first time. I can still remember the excitement I had loading my first magazine and chambering my first 5.56 round that I had ever fired. I pulled the trigger and BAM, it works! Well I go to pull the trigger for my next shot and... nothing. "That's weird" I thought and began to check over the gun. The next round hadn't chambered and in fact, the spent casing hadn't even ejected. I had to manually cycle my gun to get it to shoot again. That entire day was spent using a bolt action AR-15. So I take it home and take it apart to figure out what's going on, and I feel half like an idiot and half like I was scammed. My 16" barrel DIDN'T HAVE A GAS PORT DRILLED INTO IT. It had the markings of where the gas port was supposed to be, but it wasn't drilled! I felt like an idiot for setting up my gas block and everything without having checked beforehand to see if the hole was even there. I mean... I shouldn't feel TOO stupid for this right? Isn't it really weird for a gun barrel to NOT have the gas port drilled? The place I bought it from had no indication that the gas port hadn't been drilled. So I ended up having to take it in to a local gunsmith to get the hole drilled as my powerdrill wasn't powerful enough for me to do it myself and I ended up having to pay $75 for what was like... 10 minutes of work. But the next time I took it to the range it ran smoothly in its natural semi-auto state (well, except for 3 rounds out of 100 that got jammed, but I assume it was just "new gun" things).

Each state has their own laws. So it is rather idiotic to assume your statement would be the same for everyone. #5 Assuming everything illegal is a felony is rather asinine. So... I run a pump action 30-06 for whitetail hunting in the northeast, and I love it. Its an older model removable magazine-fed Remington 760 gamemaster that i bought when I was 18 (12 years ago). Honestly Brandon, not that weird in Australia. Here pump action shotguns are restricted, but for some reason not pump action rifles. There are several manufactures (Southern Cross Small Arms, Warwick, Wedgetail etc) making them by Australians for Australians, they're very popular with people wanting to get quick follow up shots without having to get the restricted licenses.

I was actually working at Century Arms when we started importing these. Yeah they were stupid and yes we had to fix a bunch of them for not properly functioning before we could sell them. We were also importing AKs that took a goofy 10 round single stack AK. With the exception of a few we saved for Kommiefornia, the rest went into a CNC mill and got milled out to take 30 rounders.

I appreciate this is 2 months ago, but one notable point on this. Is that they made is UK Friendly. As it is a single action rifle. However they already do make one but you have to pull the slide after every shot. And they do make a Semi Auto which is UK friendly Shotgun by AK. Great vid bud. In Metal Slug franchise, all the special weapons have the same sprite(loosely based on a FAL with a wooden grenade launcher). But if you get the Shotgun, in some games, the character will pump it. In other words, this proof of concept makes a real life metal slug shotgun/heavy machinegun possible

Honestly speaking, it'll probably make sense if they were to use AK-like sprite, given how many variant the gun has. Shotgun, check. Machine Gun, check. SMG for dual wielding, check. Laser Gun, well I remember a certain sci-fi series has a fictional laser gun based of an AK, so check. I don't know about flame thrower and rocket launcher, but surely someone can strap those into an AK with flex tape or something...

Also we usually break the mail boxes only after we slaughter the pigs in the back yard... food comes first , fun comes later. PS: If you don't get the reference . In Romania there is an actual tradition to slaughter pigs before Christmas , many households do this , look it up.... similar with turkey for Thanksgiving, only we buy them almost always alive and we need to... "fix" that ourselves.

There are many countries in the world where semi auto rifles are either banned or getting a licence for one is difficult. For example here in Finland you definitely can own a semi auto if you have a legitimate use for it which you must prove again every 5 years to keep your gun but it's much easier to get a permit for a manual rifle. Also we have a law that limits the capacity of a semi auto to 3 rounds total when hunting while on a manual gun you can use as big a mag you can carry so something like this could have it's uses in, say, deer hunting.

I had one I bought in like 2014 that was actually a super fun rifle. By then I had Krebs KV13, multiple Zastavas, Saiga's, a VEPR, and a WASR. I bought the PAR-1 just as a novelty and was shocked to see how reliably it functioned and how fun it was to pump and shoot. It's one of the guns I miss the most from my divorce.

Norinco also made a similar rifle back in the early 90’s. They started off as semis and the Chinese modified them into pumps. I remember a magazine article on how to turn them back into semis.

Funny enough is that PAR-1 is still in production in US, AFAIK. And even Kalashnikov company in Russia is also manufacturing similar weapon under the name KSZ-223 as sport shooting carbine (basically pump-action Saiga).

Brandon sometimes I load only 29 rounds just for the springs sake in humid conditions like on good ole Long Island New York blasting at the beach or in the pine barrens. Our beaches aren’t like you think on the north shore. The sound is there so it’s calm no surfing 🏄 but there is rocks 🪨 everywhere giant rocks you can swim out to and hang out drink some beer. Or not these beaches have barely any people. Which is awesome.

I am not entirely unconvinced that at least at some point someone in the design team made it their mission to also make this gun relatively easy to convert to a basic AK. The trickiest part is getting that front gas block off enough to drill the gas port, then cludge in a more proper gas tube and replace the piston end of the bolt carrier group. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if your basic pattern of handguard and gas tube can just be dropped in to this sucker. So it might just have the secondary role of being "Made to be Bubba'd."

I always drill my barrel through the installed gas block anyway. So it may be easier than you think to make into a normal AK.

What I mainly remember about those, was that they were more expensive than a "butthole" stocked AK clone. Working part time for a NFA dealer, we always figured the majority of these were sold in California or other locales with 'tarded gun laws. I can't say I ever saw one outside of a distributor's catalog, even at the big SAR shows in Phoenix. A related bit of weirdness you might have some fun with were the odd AK clones that had a single column 10 round mag. I believe they were a Century Arms import.

Buckshot doesn't begin to spread until it loses a lot of momentum. For the first couple of yards there's almost no spread at all. You'll see lots of competition shotguns have extended mag tubes that protrude further than the muzzle. And they get no damage. Maybe just a bit of flash burn marks. Boggled my mind at first too though.

I have a Remington 7615P. It is loved by all who have fired it. I think pump action rifles are the next best thing to semi-autos for those whom live in restrictive locales. I like the spring forward assist. I would like to see that on a pump shotgun.
