You’re absolutely right in a different scenario this doesn’t make sense. But the film is named Cursed for a reason. Every event that lead to his death was supernatural and technically doesn’t make sense. Him getting hit by the car isn’t an accident because he’s cursed🙏🏾

Loved this! Looks like you have a solid grasp on the craft. You covered all the bases - characters that you like, scares that are earned with the proper tension and a bit humor to add some levity. Can't wait to see what else you create! And judging by that final shot, looks like you got your drone, haha.
@kerronandrewsvisualstoryte75033 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the indepth review. This project was a real challenge especially since 99% of this was done entirely by me. I love that you said " Earned" scares because I hate random jump scares. The humor was to get the audience connected to the protagonist so that they would fear for him when he's in danger. I also made sure I kept the entities a little mysterious so I don't humanize them. Definitely a learning experience and yes!! I finally got my drone lmao. Really appreciate your feed back. The sky and beyond is the limit from here.

Wow, this was amazingly done. The Scares, the Setting, Even the camera work was good like I was watching a movie. Even the backstory and lore of this makes sense and fits together. Most Short films use baby dolls out of nowhere. This actually made sense, the guy had horror props and it was not used randomly like in other stupid short films. It could be implied the Man who gave him the stone wanted to exact revenge for the torment They caused him when they were younger. I even like the backstory, pretty solid throughout! Great job guys.

You really had me feeling bad for this guy, first of all. Haven't felt this helpless for a horror character since the Hollywood movie _"Drag Me To Hell"._ Not a lot of people can really grasp nor portray the terror of this theme. Even how as the victim gets closer to "the other side", demons swarm in to torment them like vultures drooling over a dying animal, kicking it every now and then to accelerate its demise so they may devour it. Good job, and I'm subscribing. I even have so many questions; would the guy who gave him the rock somehow know the curse worked? Who did he unwittingly give his soul to? What happened to him at the foot of those stairs? Ugh, I shouldn't be entertaining such morbid curiosities.
@kerronandrewsvisualstoryte75032 жыл бұрын

At first I was like "What is he so terrified for?" then I saw it and was screaming "HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! GET OUT OF THERE.....WATCH OUT FOR A CAAA!!!" Then I was mad at the person who was speeding and hit him, as if they couldn't have seen him standing in the street? Please don't mind me, I almost lost my daughter and 2 grand babies the other day in a nasty car accident? {clears throat} As soon as he mentioned that the dude they used to bully back in the day, was acting really nice and gave him a supposedly "good luck" rock(and it had words to recite in a different language)I was like "Oh no, haven't u seen "Evil Dead" or "Cabin In the Woods?" u never recite any unknown language without looking it up first?" 😂 This is the scariest short film I've ever seen, and the scares never stopped once after he went to bed!!! @kerronandrewsvisualstoryte75033 жыл бұрын
Interesting comment 🤔 what about the suspense? Was it still suspenseful because these scares in this short is built around time. To speed it up is to take out the pyscholgy behind it. The music the pace which is a real thing in movies. Pacing sets the tone of a film for action the pacing is faster and for suspense it's slower. When the pacing is off the overall picture will be compromised and will have minimum affect on the mind. But if it worked for you that's awesome there's no complaints here 🙌🏾 Either way I'm about to try it lol

Its interesting because in real life the bullies are ALWAYS the ones who forget about all the people they torchered!! Even though they usually leave lifelong scars on the people they bullied, yet the bully ALWAYS develops selective amnesia! This time check one for the little guy!! 😏 This was a great horror film!

@@kerronandrewsvisualstoryte7503 Thank you for your response! You really did a great job with this. I always have much respect for the people who produce, direct, AND act in their films! @@detrajackson5992 I'm humbled 😊 I'm new to the game so I have to work with what I have for now. Of course the pandemic didn't make it any easier 🥴 hopefully things will get better soon so I can get behind the camera instead of being in front of it. This way I can really tell an interesting story just as a Director. Currently working on a sci-fi short film. It will take some time but stay tuned for that one 😉 I really appreciate you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts. It means the world to me. I took a leap of faith into film making so your opinion gives me strength. Stay blessed friend.

@@kerronandrewsvisualstoryte7503 Awww!! I must say I am equally humbled. Although I must admit I am an adjunct college professor among other things so giving feedback is what I do!! I kid!! I don't ALWAYS provide feedback, but I do often try. It's interesting because I am an avid reader. NEVER been a TV or film watcher, however since the quarantine I have become addicted to short horror films. I have seen many great short films over these last 8-9 months and can appreciate the difficulties of telling the story of a full length feature in a very short time frame. While I honestly know things will be not be back the way they were anytime soon (I am in the public health field), I DO hope you soon accomplish EVERYTHING you set out to do(however long it may take)!! With that being said I will be looking for your name on one of the cool Sci fi shorts on DUST!!!

@@detrajackson5992 nice! Professor? I love it !I've been in sales Real Estate, a Public Speaker, Military veteran, Yoga Teacher, Fitness instructor and a Book Marketing consultant and coach 🥴🥴 i mention all that to say that I've been chasing what the world wanted me to chase and not what's in my soul. Granted i don't regret any of it because it was all conducive to where I'm at now. Conversely I was committing spiritual suicide. There was a definitive emptiness or success without fulfillment in that journey. But making movies breathes life into me. So when I say I appreciate your comment and anyone who value what I do, I really mean it. It's more than becoming a millionaire ( which is what I was chasing before) lol now my journey is one of personal fulfillment which ultimately leads to sharing with the world. Money will eventually be a by product for doing what I love.

The beginning was obvious.I knew he would get hit by a car.It was the reasons why that made this a gem.You should never assume someone you bullied forgets being bullied.Also,I had a good laugh when he immediately tried to wash the green out of his eye.He didn't realize he was cursed and it wouldn't end until he was dead in the street.
