I'm using Huawei P40 Pro and yes it is Quard Curved (from sides, top and bottom) but I'm also facing the same issue when we apply any protection on it, it is hard as compared to Flat display phones. But at the same time in Curve displays we have an experience and to maintain that rich experience we need to pay a bit more that's totally worth it.

Glad to see the S8 mentioned. Owning it since launch, Beautiful phone, still runs like a beast 💪🏼. Honestly I am tired of the curve now 😅, want to go for a flat display... Personal opinion as to why I would go with a flat display, is the actual screen which u see, while consuming media. When u put a curved & flat screen phone side by side, On a curved screen, eventhough theoretically the screen might be the same size, the flat display will look bigger. (Assuming both displays are sAmoleds or oleds and look top notch). As I use my phone for consuming alot of media, I would definitely go for a bigger screen. Haan, when it comes to in - hand feel and aesthetic, there is no beating the curve 😉

Curve displays are very good for increasing the display area in the same form factor, makes phone look more attractive or aesthetic! It makes things a little bit pop out (as GT bhaiya said) but... it's expensive to implement, it can break/shatter easily on small accidents, also we all know about accidental touches while gaming! So overall flat display is more practical and strong but curve display is also practical but not for gamers!

I remember when I was deciding between oneplus phone at 34k and samsung s8 plus at 48k and curved display was the major reason I ended up buying S8 plus, and my most expensive phone in life till now! Even though I had many issues with samsung with exynos heating, costly tempered glass that didn’t used to stay long, poor battery backup and charging port needed to be replaced twice in 3 years but, o man that screen has been the most gorgeous screen on any smartphone! Curved display is an experience in itself but flat displays are just practical!

I had an S6 edge which had the first dual sided curved glass. It was a pinnacle of beauty in 2015. Other phones at that time felt like dinosaurs from prehistoric period beside that phone. It felt so premium at that time. Felt premium to hold and the screen was so sharp it had a ppi of more than 400. I miss that phone now. Samsung doesn't make innovative phones now which is sad (except foldable phones which are available for more than 4 years in a row).

I've been using the one plus 8 pro with a curved display for the past 3 years. Reality is there is no real life use of the curve. It may look a bit expensive but other than that there's no use. I faced so much problem while buying a screen protector. You don't find any good screen protector in the market. The ones that are there are either very costly or don't cover the entire screen. Even the costly ones are not that good. The break so easily. Sometimes content gets lost in curve. You also face some problem while working on the curves of the phone (photo , video editing) . I'll choose a flat screen anyday without a second thought.

All my previous androids were curved screen ones, and i can assure you it wont crack as easily as he said. I used samsung note 9 and oneplus 8, and trust me when i say this, i am a very clumsy when it comes to handling phone, technology has come a long way and gorillaglass 5 is enough to survive hip down impacts, sometimes i dropped from chest height yet no cracks. Maybe luck maybe the protection. So the chance that curved is delicate than flat is baseless. And my current phone ip13 is also as standard as them, dropped it so many times and its still scratchLess, so u decide what you want. One thing i disliked about curved screens is that sometimes on whatsapp the image is cropped at the edges. And if there is text at the edges, you may not be able to access it. 😅 that was my only con for curved screens

Tempered glass is a pain in the arse. Really. Its worst, which is why i used screen protector, not the cheap one but the 3 layers wala. Its as protective as tempered glass. And unlike tempered glass it wont break. But can protect your phone much better. I remembering once an angry kid threw watch on my phone, and it landed on my screen. Got so nervous and when peeled off, screen was spotless, protector got a deep scratch. 😊

Actually i will prefer company to use 2.5 D curve glass its more practical, reliable,long life . I remember in 8th standard i was having lava Z90 phone it was having 2.5 d glass which used be so good and feel good and no worry for protection glass because it is available for it , even on i right now have samsung A51 with flat screen and im using 2.5 d glass as tempered glass ,its only rs 150 and is really good ; do feel like it has oliophobic coating 😅

Hello rakesh bhaiyya, What a coincidence!!! Right now am having flat display but huge fan of curved display ...hence thinking to buy pure curved display phone and sell this one ...although phone am using is grt (samsung m31s) been using it since 2 yrs ...the only thing wanted to buy new one is the CURVED DISPLAY...so thinking whether should i go for it or not ...as few features will have to compromise

I don't see any practical usage of curved displays, except for the looks. Just imagine you are watching a video with subtitles in a curved display (fullscreen), where will the subtitles be located? And not only that. There are many more issues too. For example you are reading something on the screen, you will have to tilt the screen to be able to reach the edges

Hello sir, After seeing your video about the moto edge 40, I brought it instantly, It has been just 2 days after the purchase of the moto edge 40, I was on call and used the Speaker option, but after some time the speaker started to crack, and after that bottom speaker stopped working. Now only the top speaker is producing a sound that is not loud. I have done some research and found out that many people are facing the same type of issue. Sir, please make a video about it as the experience I am facing is very bad. Because I have raised my voice in different channels like twitter mail and calls nothing is working. I have been using Mate20 pro for about 4 n a half years now and the display is just gorgeous. I haven't applied a screen guard and apart from a few scratches the display is still good. A few downsides as mentioned by you, gaming experience, especially PUBG, the curve disturbs the view a bit and placement of icons on the edges ruins the experience. Replacing the screen will definitely be expensive and applying screen guard by own isn't viable option either. Anyway, I would still buy a curved display phone and I can't compromise on that. The new Honor 90 seems to be a solid phone, display and camera wise, but no OIS !!! I wish they release Vivo X90 Pro Plus in India 😢

All the points are very well covered by Rakesh bhai. In my personal opinion, curved displays gets u a lot of attention, like I still take off the case and look at how gorgeous the display feels. That's it, that is the only advantage you have on a curved display. But I like how people ogle at my phone 😂. So if u r someone who likes to have that feeling, go buy the best sleek curved display phone and show off.

I am using LG Wing which I wanted to buy because of its display. I got the opportunity because of LG's failure due to which they had to sell it in discounted price. Trust me LG wing was the best display smartphone in India. It is the only mobile that has big Amoled screen (6.8 inch), it is curved and it is also uninterrupted. Uninterrupted means the screen doesn't have camera on it like notch camera or punch hole camera. Because of this it gives awesome viewing experience specially watching ultrawide 4k videos. After LG Wing, there is no smartphone available in India that has these much screen features.

Yo, so I've been rocking the Samsung Galaxy S9 for years, and recently I got my hands on the Galaxy S24. Honestly, I still can't get over the curved display of the S9. It just feels so much better in my hand, even though the screen sizes are pretty much the same. And I recently compared the video quality on both the devices and I was a little disappointed yet shocked to see that the resolution on the S9 is actually better than the S24, even though the S24 has a higher peak brightness. I know, I know, the S24 has all these amazing features like a better camera, better sound, a higher refresh rate, and all that mind blowing AI features, but the S9 still holds its own. Oh, and one more thing, you know this little s9 has even beat iphone 12, 12 Pro, 13, 13 Pro and 14 in photography. I have been so proud to have it. Also, I've changed the curved display tempered glass on my S9 like four times in the past four years, and each time it only cost me 250 bucks. That's 200 for the glass and 50 for the application. So, no it's not costly at all unless you break the display itself. I'm not a heavy user so I have never faced that issue.

Generally, this video is only for people who use (or want to use) tempered glass protection. These days almost every phone has Gorilla Glass protection, so I don't feel like having that extra bulge on an already heavy phone. I've never used any "extra glass protection" for my phone & I've never broken any of my phone until now due to the fall or any irresponsible behaviour. My personal preference is a slightly curved (2.5D) display. Neither flat nor waterfall display.

I honestly don't get the fuss about curved display. It drains battery, back covers are difficult to find for it, some smartphones with curved display have accidental touches issues, Tempered glasses are more expensive, Tempered glass application and removal is also a mess.

I've been using mate 30 pro since 2021.. There is no problem in waterfall display.. I have used different types of back cover as well as screen protectors. Trust me still it is one of the best looking phone without any display issues.. Many times the phone fell from my hand. But still it looks fresh.
