Thanks TD for both the email and another great video. Your videos were a great help when I started using AutoCAD Architecture. Lately, I've been working on shoreline stabilization plans. Whenever I go back to working on building plans, I find your videos are a wonderful refresher course. Glad to see you've created an on-line class. I'll sign up for it when it looks like more building plans are coming my way. Thanks again!

Thank you for your time in making these video's, I have been using AutoCAD since R14, but just recently started using Architecture and find your videos most helpful, while a number of commands are identical my learning curve is the tool pallets and how to reproduce what I can draw in 3D modeling mode in AutoCAD. In Architecture I am struggling to draw a custom feature front door with glazing panels to both sides and above, the overall frame is 4150mm high and 2300mm wide with a single door centre of the frame measuring 1000mm wide by 2450mm high. Also is AutoCAD I can clad the external walls in vertical timber cladding and composite panels with a shadow gap design, plus some stacker brick feature columns (pilasters) and then use the Visualize tab and material browser to make these elements look realistic but I can't find how to do this in Architecture, it just seems limited to the wall types you can pick from the pallet. However I do think the Drape command is extremally good and time saving and I don't know why it's not included in AutoCAD

All of what you are trying to do can be done in AutoCAD Architecture. You would have to use window/door assembly to get that custom door design. For materials, use material definitions rather than the materials found on the visualize tab.

Hello, thank you for all your videos, I have been bringing your channel for the past two months, and I have been learning so much. I have a question I haven't found an answer yet, and it is probably due to me missing the right terminology. I want to know how can I draw a room that is on the same floor has the other rooms, but on a slight step, slightly higher than the other ones ? Thank you so much for your help

Yes, that is possible. There are a number of approaches. If it's a large enough space, you can create a separate level (mezzanine). For example, if the floor raises up 1'-6", Level 1 will start at 0" with a height of 1'-6", then Level 1.1 will start at 1'-6"" with a height of 8'-6". That might be confusing. I'll have to do a video to better explain.

Thank you for your response! I thought I might have to create another floor for that. I was hoping I wouldn't have to. A video on that would be great 😃! Also I would love to see a video on the renovation tool. I am learning AutoCAD for a renovation and I would love to have your tips and tricks on that subject ! Thanks for your videos keep at it !

You can draw the wall and create a arch extrusion thru it

autocads native dark interface always makes it so foreign for me how would 3d modelling look like if the interface and everything was set to a light theme? i have a theory that it would attract more interest

I might do that next time.
