i'm very disappointed with this movie.. VP is talented person and after Maanadu, he raised his bar.. Can't believe that is he the same guy who wrote Maanadu screenplay.. it seems like very lazy writing and screeplay, not sure probably in a hurry to get hero callsheet or producer. Hero's acting n dialogue delivery also not good.. better casting needed.. i felt that the cameo hero in flashback (not revealing the surprise) should have played the main role.. at least could have saved the movie to certain level.. The movie had alot of boring and confusing scenes.. that ramki scene got no clarity, whether it was a spoof or is he from Black Squad.. in another scene, Sarath Kumar who plays IG Natraj, asking the CBI officer to get letter from Commissioner, so that he will corporate with the CBI.. as i know, IG is superior than commissioner, then why he needs a letter from his inferior officer.. usually comedy in VPs movies will be witty, creative and blend with movie.. here it is very forced.. except for the two Prem scenes, Premgi and Vennela Kishore.. that was typical VP scene.. i was expecting more of that.. The only relieving factor was Arwindswami.. his screen presence was superb.. he brought the Puthayal Arwindswami.. was good to see him like that.. but again poor writing.. the scenes for him could have been written in much better way..sadly his scenes were not developed properly, although it had all the scope... No wonder, he didnt come to any promotional events.. he might be disappointed with the final output.. The only relieving factor was Arwindswami.. his screen presence was superb.. he brought the Puthayal Arwindswami.. was good to see him like that.. but again poor writing.. the scenes for him could have been written in much better way..sadly his scenes were not developed properly, although it had all the scope... No wonder, he didnt come to any promotional events.. he might be disappointed with the final output.. Apart from that sarath kumar, priyamani, YG Mahendra all had very limited scope to act.. Priyamani as CM started with very good hype, but again similar fate with Arwindswami, poor writing again.. her character also was not developed properly.. This movie should have brought the tension and suspense in audience.. but was very flat and boring.. Saroja too had similar chasing/hunting theme.. but Saroja was superbly writing engaging, suspense, comedy all will blend nicely with typical VP's creativity.. but in Custody, all these were missing.. Overall, this movie is the worst output from VP.. even Massu and Briyani far better than this..i liked both the movies, casting was better, screenplay was ok, not bad.. Even Manmadha leelai was good n worked for me.. I was wondering why CUSTODY having alot of pre-release promotional videos, VP is over promoting it, which he never had for Maanadu or Manmadha Leelai.. the trailer also seems not so interesting.. these things made me feel the movie might not be good.. but just for VP, i went to cinemas ignoring all the doubts.. but seriously VP u disapointed us.. and most of VP's fans are in same thoughts.. im not sure may be this will work in telegu.. I really hope if VP reading this, please take all these points to improve, and come back with a bang.. please spend time in writing, its k take you time.. dont be in hurry, dont go after stars.. if ur writing is good, screenplay is engaging with creative scenes, then u can just use your Chennai28 boys to act in it.. much better... no need to go after stars.. movies like Love Today and DADA worked superbly among the audience, mainly due to good content and engaging screenplay.. the ROI also very high for the producers..so spend some time in writing.. Still eagerly waiting for PARTY release.. From A true VP fan A true cinema lover
