Great to see the unloved 412 getting a resto mod. I grew up with a father who influenced my vehicle tastes, unfortunately cars like the 275GTB, TDF and other 250 series cars are and have been out of my reach and I will probably never experience them again. These vehicles are obviously too rare and valuable to modify but l have no problem seeing 80s model Ferraris and later being cut up and made better especially when retaining Ferrari engines. Thank you for this great content.

Thank you! I've been extremely lucky in my life to experience (as a passenger) a couple of 50s and 60s Ferrari's. They are truly special! And to hopefully capture some of that magic in this car is extremely exciting for me and I can't wait to see it done and show it to the world!!

Really digging your content and build philosophy. I consume a lot of automotive content and learned a lot from David Visards [99% of headers are wrong] vid as well as Maisteer's [Why this V12 sounds better than a $5M Pagani] video.

Thank you! Sadly, I think because of emissions standards and overall packaging issues, most modern cars don't have quality exhaust manifold design and a lot of them just don't sound as good as they should. Hopefully this system achieves what we are looking for!

Did you guys use a software to determine runner length ? Or basically just have to mimic the size of one side based on fitment ?

So overall primary length was decided to be 22" based on Steve's calculations, he's done a lot of research on fluid dynamics as they relate to airflow within engine systems. As for matching that length on all 12 runners, Martin uses a wire technique shown in the video, where it's held to the centerlines of radiuses for accuracy, and then measures them post welding and checks them with audio tests. You can also use water or sand for volumetric tests but that felt unnecessary for this specific project.

Nope, this is all old school exhaust building technique. Steve's length requirements are based on his knowledge and calculations, and Martin builds the shape by hand, one bend at a time.

There is almost no chance this would fit in a standard 812 haha. I'm sure there's a way to package a system like this into an 812 if you absolutely needed to, but there tends to be very little extra room in modern cars.
