The colors McFarlane used for Batman500 were not how I remembered them from the comic. This paint job helped the figure get closer to how I remember it.

I agree. For me he always had a darker tone in my mind even in the few comics where he had a really light tone like the original figure.

Dude, that is perfect clean and looks factory. Only reason I didn’t buy this fig was the paint and I’m an in box guy The Mattel one was so damn awesome I was sad to see this figure wasted on bad paint. Fantastic job my man.

Great job! Did the cape became sticky? Since it's like rubber I'm afraid it will get sticky if I paint it with regular acrylic paints.

It didn't! No stick whatsoever. I was incredibly happy with how it dried.

It actually depends on the comic appearance. Most of them have it as blue, but there are a few where it's the metallic cover. The very famous Azrael-Batman cover has it as metallic, but almost everything else is the blue.

Great work, can I also recommend trying out some different paints. I use Vallejo Model Color paints and its like an entirely new experience compared to the craft type paints from hobby lobby. Still painting on my Bane BAF when I'm able after I messed it up the first time, like your friend said you can always start over with paint. Enjoying your work, keep it up.

It's called True Blue from DecoArt paints. It's an acrylic hobby paint that you can get at any craft store for like $3. It's awesome.
