Hey, the paint only cracked on the toe box because I put just the paint by itself on it after I put a few layers of paint mixed with the GAC 900 so I could do a wear test. I painted it over only with the paint mixed with GAC 900 and it didn’t crack but you have to make sure you heat set it with a heat gun so it flexes with the material, a blow dryer won’t work

you def deserve way more subscribers man! this was high level stuff .Ive got a pair of satins too and i want to just paint the swoosh red to match the logo .I ordered Angelus RED paint .But idk if it needs to be varsity red instead ? also after rubbing with acetone can i just paint the swoosh and leave it at that or do i need a gloss finisher /sealant as well? thanks man and subbed for this 🔥

Thank you 🙏🏽 new videos coming soon and thank you for the sub 💪🏽 the Varsity Red paint looks like the closest color to me but I think it needs to be darker. Instead of using Black to make the Red darker, use Scarlet Red. So either Red mixed with the right amount of Scarlet Red or Varsity Red mixed with the right amount of Scarlet Red. If you can manage to mix Black and Red without the Black messing up the color then you can do that as well. And yes you need a sealant. You can use Angelus Matte Finisher or Raleigh Restorations Scratch Resistant Sealer. I noticed the Angelus finisher doesn’t give me the protection i need long term and it’s not matte like it should be so I only use RR Scratch Resistant Sealer as a finisher now. If I want a shiny finish I’ll use Raleighs first and then put an Angelus Finisher over it

It only cracked because I put straight paint as a top coat and then I wear tested it. After that I peeled off the top coat and mixed the paint with GAC 900, heat set it properly then wear tested it again and it didn’t crack

Just GAC 900. 2-Thin is when you’re using an airbrush. The GAC 900 makes the paint flex with the material so it doesn’t crack when you wear it. And thank you bro 💪🏽

Thank you 💪🏽 just make sure you take your time and have patience, customizing isn’t always quick. And when you use the GAC 900 you have to have a heat gun to set it, a blow dryer won’t work. When you’re painting the toe box only use the paint mixed with GAC. I put 2 coats of straight paint on top just to see if it would crack when i wore it and it did.

I made the stencil with my Cricut Explore One and only put the matte finish on the leather parts. If you put it on the satin it will turn the satin crusty so I sprayed water and stain repellent on the satin parts

Ofc bro 🤙🏽 You should use acetone on the swoosh to take off all the factory finish & original paint that went transparent. Then use the 18k (about 7-9 LIGHT coats or until you get the look you’re going for) and use a gloss finisher at the end to get the same effect as the original. Let me know how it comes out ! 2 soft is for when you’re painting fabric (same as GAC 900) and 2 hard is for when you’re painting plastic or other tough materials.

No because it’s a fabric, the finisher will stiffen it up. You can spray a water & stain repellent on it though

What paint should I use to restore the gold pinnacle 6s?

That’s hard to say. The only paint I use is from Angelus and their metallic gold paint doesn’t really match the color of the gold pinnacle 6s. All I can recommend is trying different gold paints from other brands or mixing different shades of white with Angelus’ metallic gold. Sorry I couldn’t provide more help than this.

The GAC 900 makes the satin flexible so when you walk the paint won’t crack. You can try it with 2-Thin but there’s a chance it might crack. I would test it out in a small area on the toe box and walk in it. You can always go back over it when you get GAC 900
