Yup im not ashamed to admit i bought vnr Prime for the head swap. Ive been looking for a good axe too. Other than that our primes have the exact same mods and accessories

It makes you wonder why Hasbro didn't do that from the start: the Volvo head on the EarthRise body. You might want to try the Energon Axe from Orion Pax Data Clerk, the one from the 'Humble Origins' 2-pack with Senator Shockwave. It's neat that our Primes share the same mods and accessories!

Passing on studio 86 prime. It looks good but, the "G1 Prime" character has long since been nailed several times already. So it's more of the same to me. The 35th cel-shaded Siege Prime and Netflix Optimus being my favorites. I do dig how LARGE and chunky Studio 86 Prime is, at least. I did not expect him to dwarf ER Optimus. Like a callback to the prior "leader class" scale.

I get where you're coming from about Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime. It does look great, but I can see how it might feel repetitive given how many solid versions of G1 Optimus we've already gotten. The 35th cel-shaded Siege and Netflix versions are definitely standout figures. That said, I do appreciate the size and chunkiness of the Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime. It's impressive how it dwarfs the Earthrise Optimus, bringing back memories of the old 'leader class' scale. It's always nice to see some variation in size and design, even if it's not a must-have for everyone.

For mine, I took the smoke stacks and energon axe from a flame toys g1 prime model kit that I got cheap (and busted) on ebay. It was £15. Money pretty well spent I'd say since I think the axe looks better than hasbro's attempt and the smoke stacks are a huge improvement even though they are pretty fragile.

That’s a fantastic find! It’s amazing how the right accessories can really enhance a figure. I agree-the Flame Toys axe definitely adds a lot of character, and it’s great that you were able to get those smokestacks to fit well too. Even if they’re a bit fragile, the upgrade is definitely worth it. Nice work on turning a budget find into a major improvement!

I just ordered my copy of Earthrise Prime, i already have the Volvo one, so i'll definitely swap the two's heads. Is it true that it needs to sandpaper the balljoint a little on ER to install the Volvo one's head?

No issues with the head swap process-no sanding required. I simply popped the Volvo head sculpt onto the EarthRise body’s neck ball joint, and it fit perfectly.

That headsculpt is fantastic. If the SS86 weren't coming soon and if I hadn't just picked up Missing Lunk, I'd be tempted to get the Volvo figure just for that.

The headswap isn't a fantastic size fit with the pegs. How did you get yours to fit on there?

I just popped off the head sculpts and attached them to the neck pegs. It was as simple as that. I remember having no difficulty with the procedure.

At the moment, I don’t have the means to that, as achieving frontal butterfly joint movement would likely require 3D design and printing. I haven’t come across anyone who’s managed to add this kind of articulation successfully, so it would probably involve some complex customization. If I come across any resources or guides that could help, I’ll let you know!

I’d advise against removing the flap inside Earthrise Optimus Prime’s chest. While it might seem like a straightforward tweak, trying to forcefully remove it could damage the figure’s structure. It’s designed to stay in place, and tampering with it could cause parts to break or not function as intended. If you're considering mods, it might be best to wait until you have the figure on hand so you can better assess the risks.

There's a pin on his chest-look at the upper corners. I removed it using a small screwdriver and a hammer. Be careful during the procedure.

Have you tried using the legs of Siege Optimus with the torso of ER Optimus?

I never tried because the blue plastic colors of my Netflix and EarthRise Optimus Primes don't match. The appearance would look off since Netflix Optimus Prime has a darker blue, while EarthRise Optimus Prime has a lighter blue.

​​​​@@Nutahal_CetavaniThat's not Netflix Optimus in the video. Not entirely. It looks like you have the upper torso of Regular Earthrise Prime. Noting that chrome strip on his chest. One of the reasons I prefer Netflix Prime is because he lacks the strip. Also I think it has the arms of Earthrise Prime too, as evident by the gray bicep and shoulder joints.

I also wanted to paint Optimus Prime's thighs white, just like his G1 cartoon model. However, removing the pins is quite a challenge. I've done it before with other figures, and upon reassembly, there's always a risk of loosening the painted joints. But your suggestion is a good idea.
