This is really a small world. I have never met Charlotte in person but she was very kind and professional when exchanging emails trying to find a property for me, when I was moving to the Sunshine Coast with my family when living in Sydney at that time. (2021 I think). I’m currently looking after another property to rent and with a quick research on Google, it’s brought me in here. Lol It’s good to see her and her partner living the dream, like I did when moved in to the Sunshine Coast, chasing up the waves and similar lifestyle I had in my home country, Brazil.I hope you guys bring us some adventures, subbed. Cheers, Marcos

Hi Marcos, It really is a small world! It’s so funny how you landed here but we are so happy to have you along. Glad to hear you’re enjoying life on the Sunshine Coast, it is a beautiful place.

Great video. Have been watching quite a lot of these canopy set up videos to get ideas for ours and this set up stands out. Not over the top and well thought out!

Oh thanks so much! Definitely recommend giving PROFAB a call, they’d be able to build something specific to your needs that won’t cost you a house deposit haha.

Love the setup guys, great to see an older style vehicle decked out, still more then capable on going where all "game changer" rigs go 👌🏻 interested in what the old girl weighs, or not something youd like to advertise on socials? 😂
@lifeina4wd Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! We so agree hey. Especially with diff lockers, such a game changer for how capable the old rufflux became. She's not without our dramas, but older cars are so much easier to fix on the road. Honestly even if we upgraded we probably just go a 100 series and chop it any way so still an older vehicle. If you have Instagram, TikTok or Facebook feel free to drop us a DM there 😜

Ever considered making yourself a bungee net to assist keeping your small goods in that upper shelf? Could use some riv-nuts to bolt three small attachment points in the corners.

Definitely something we discussed and never got around to doing. The new set up seems to be working well to keep everything in place.

I bet you two are glad to be in the sunshine with a bit of heat. In Melbourne and Tassie Brrrrrrrrr the only thing it didn't do is snow 🌨️. Love the inside excellent 👌 👍 ✔️✔️✔️. The chain saw a definite YES. I don't travel without on trips. Its a good lock up inside the canopy for special occasions when food is short in the out back😉🤐. *If* Normanton is a destination l know the person in charge of the railway station ""slash"" Driver. Have great time. Makes me want to hit the road Again 👋👋

It did snow on us while we are in Tassie, in Feb too it was crazy haha! Its crazy to us that people travel without a chainsaw hey! Oooo we went to Normanton last year! Working on some exciting things for the next couple months more around Darwin... fingers crossed it all happens!

Rather than have the wasted space under the drawers I spaced mine an extra 70mm so I can use the space for extension leads hoses and other junk.

dunn and Watson make fridge slides that would work with the orientation of the fridge
@lifeina4wd Жыл бұрын
Yeah we did take a look at those, unfortunately we needed a fully zero footprint slide as we literally had no extra room on either side of the fridge, even that little extra the runners add on either side just took away that bit of room we needed. Oh well! Next build...

Thanks so much Gary! We love our older lux but at half a million kms she is likely to get semi retired this year. 😢 by that I mean we’ll still keep her but she’ll likely go back to a Ute and be our “farm truck”

How much are people paid for a info-commercial like this!? Well done! Love your work!
@lifeina4wd Жыл бұрын
Interesting question! We actually weren't paid for this video. We did receive a small discount on the cost of the canopy as we did produce a promo video for them so I guess you could say we exchanged services in that regard, but this video in particular was purely as we'd had people asking about the canopy build so wanted to share! Since working with PROFAB though we'd happily sing their praises from the rooftops all day every day.

Those "spicy bois" look a bit tight. How do you go about getting the spicers ar the back?
@lifeina4wd Жыл бұрын
Yeah we are going to cut the foam so you can slide out a row at a time if that makes sense?

How much does it cost to do a custom-made canopy? Price range?
@lifeina4wd Жыл бұрын
That’s like asking how long is a piece of string 😂 depending on what your after and who from you could be talking anywhere from $15k to like $50-60k. We recommend talking to your preferred fabricator so they can give you a quote…. And after you do that call PROFAB too and get a quote from them 🤪

Haha yeah the Starlink puts it through its paces. Before we bought the Starlink it would only need to run on VERY rare occasions (say the fridge, freezer and my laptop charger are all running at the same time it might switch in for a couple of minutes). When the Starlink is plugged in it's like continuous.
