Custom Designed Modern Kitchen by Interior Designer & Creative Director Barbara Schmidt studiobstyle

This beautiful custom kitchen was inspired by a trip to Milan and the International Euro Cucina Kitchen Show. Barbara wandered through all the displays both at the show and in Milan's design district. Minimalism and luxe surfaces are hallmarks of European and American kitchens today.
Finding design elements that blended European style with American sensibility is a fun challenge. We knew we needed to keep the space wide open and thankfully @subzerowolf had the perfect appliances to build in. We slid a Wolf 36" Induction Range into the island and with a zero clearance beveled edge the look and feel was modern and unexpected.
This allowed us to install a Wolf remote control hood in the ceiling leaving the view out the windows wide open. We nearly always design with built in refrigeration with and by lining up the 30" Column refrigerator and freezer with an 18" wine unit we were able to keep the wall sleek and contemporary.
Now about those custom cabinets @REHAUinc we selected a #terra wood finish for our wall and a #rauvisionoir for our island. These two elements played off each other in a way that added texture to our modern environment.
Our flooring was selected to be a natural stone - @Interceramic Shadow Gray #marble in an 18" x 18" size. The scale and the pattern needed to be large enough and strong enough for the bold shapes of the island and windows. The color and pattern really do pull this whole look together.
