Brilliant, I learned a few tricks! Will eventually have to do something similar to fix disintegrating plastics on my CRX.

This is actually a customers car but it will be showing up here every now and then as there is quite a bit we plan to do to it.

wow looks great! very subtle, like toyota offered it as a option.

Cheers mate. The owner and I decided the best option was to keep as much of it OEM as possible while still tying in with the aftermarket side skirts.

That's really awesome work!! Question you didn't reuse or make the OEM mounts and mounting brackets? Thanks!
@TofuAutoWorks Жыл бұрын
Cheers. This was a build for a client and he specified what sort of mounts he wanted, in this case it was a drift car so he just needed simple mounts and brackets.

Was there a second fiberglass bumper? Looks like you cut the rear lower pods off and made them fit as well. They weren't on the original bumper so that part was slightly confusing. I found your channel a few days ago and binge watched every episode lol. Awesome work and I learned quite a bit.
@TofuAutoWorks2 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. If you haven't already, make sure that subtitles are on because I add quite a bit of extra info in there. The car was supplied with those side pods you see in the video which were cut from the aftermarket body kit that you see fitted to the rest of the car. The customer wanted to me to replicate the original bumper but add the side pods on so that it would tie in with the rest of the kit. Unfortunately the profile of the aftermarket bumper with the side pods didn't match the factory bumper and so I had to make copies of the original factory sides as well and stitch all 5 pieces together.

@@TofuAutoWorks Ah, that's why I missed those details. I'll make sure to turn those on, thanks!

Hey bro How many layers of fibre glass do you use for the end product?
@TofuAutoWorks2 жыл бұрын
For standard parts I do gelcoat, 1 layer of 225 gsm chopped as a skin coat, and then 2 layers of 450 gsm chopped as a main layer. Final thickness is around 3.5mm
