The dark eyes 8th doctor is what I always imagine when I think of the eight doctor. This sonic screwdriver is one of my favourites. Though I would like a black and silver eleventh doctor screwdriver with a purple light. By the way, for a challenge, try to do a custom Lego sonic screwdriver, and when I mean Lego, I mean a sonic screwdriver that minifigure doctor you bought.

I have seen others do similar mods of the Eleventh Doctor sonic but I prefer it's normal look myself, and Lego customs isn't really something that interests me, sorry

If you wanted a blue crystal, I'd recommend some resin casting with blue dye. You could even use your mold from your hot glue attempt.

The hot glue mould unfortunately fell apart, I will redo this crystal in future however the best option I've come up with is to cut it from a small block of clear blue perspex or rubber, however at present time I don't have the tools necessary to undertake such a task, but I do plan to redo it at some point

Yes, or atleast it's one of his sonic screwdrivers, this is the one he uses from Dark Eyes onwards, although he later had gone back to his standard type by Night Of The Doctor

Quite a few people have made replica of this sonic, I've seen many variations over the years, although Ashton does make things much more professionally than me!

@Mitchell Coleman : To be perfectly honest I was asking myself the same question making this, for mine I made a carved a rough hexagonal pyramid that I used to make a mould so I could then make two halves from hot glue that could be stuck together, which is what you see here.

+Sally Owen Thanks and assuming you mean the KZbin channel of the same name, I do know of DoctorWho2012, his work is great however apart from my own series I'm not really interested in doing other peoples fan characters and figures of their series. This is mainly because it could potentially lead to other people asking me to make figures of their series and short of taking on commissions to do this (which I don't have any plans to do either) it would just be a lot of work that I wouldn't have the time to take on.

Have you ever thought of getting a blue sharpie and colouring a glue stick then put the hot glue in the mold?

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, all that would do is colour the outside of the glue stick (which when it melts would probably just burn off) rather than actually change the colour of the glue

But you can get blue hot glue from Amazon :D

You can but they are solid blue not transparent/frosted, so the light wouldn't shine through it, unfortunately transparent blue hot glue sticks aren't something that seems to be generally available
