Dennis... I really enjoy your down to earth personality! In 1969, I sold my 56 Nomad (which I drag raced on the street and strip) I sold the Nomad in order to build my 55 Chevy 210, 2 Door Sedan Gasser. I used that money while working at a NAPA AUTO PARTS store. I cut the front frame off at the firewall and built my own boxed frame with a Chrome Straight Axle. I was able to turn high 11's with a small block 60 over 57, 283 (292) with 12.5 pistons, M-22 with 5-13s out back. I had to laugh about the fried potatoes, beens. That was a routine meal for our family. My parents were born in Oklahoma. Great times. I'm retired and in my mid 70's.

I was browsing KZbin one day and came across Alex’s channel. Sometime during Covid, they were working on the 55 and Dennis needed to make a mandrel for bending an odd size tubing. For the roll cage. He designed and cast his own mandrel. I believe that’s what it’s called. It reminded me of my father, when I was a young man and was put in a Buick V6 into a 1947 Willys Jeep. there was a transfer case adaptor that was made out of aluminum that it allowed the Muncie four-speed to connect to the jeep transfer case. It was kind of a complicated adaptor that you could buy for about $300 (that was in 1976, not sure what that converts to today). He built a form. And packed sand into that form similar to the way that Dennis did it. Heated up a bunch of scrap aluminum till it melted poured it into the form. Poured , let it cool. Vending machine it out and was really ticked off that it required a shim underneath the mounting point to the crossmember. It worked great and I took his craftsmanship for granted. It’s great to see that there are still people around that can build stuff that they need , not just throw down a CC and wait by the shop door for the brown truck to show up.

I think everyone should at least see the cemetery and memorial in Normandy. Gives a different view of thing when you see all those white crosses and all the names who are still lost, instead reading numbers on pages. They just opened d-day museum in 2023, it is just amazing place. Visiting Auschwitz in Poland is just whole thing itself, seeing all that and then realizing there were smaller camps also

I was wondering why Booneville AR? Is Dennis originally from that area?

He grow up in LA, but somewhere I'm sure I heard him tell he had family coming from Booneville and that's why he settled in AR. There's an hour long interview with him and Alex somewhere on YT, where he tells about his older brothers being into cars and racing and visiting to the local racetrack on his bike as an kid.
