Here's an audio video with build pictures of my first Mariner 4 frame build. I built this frame in 2012, and it lasted up until the end of the 2017 fishing season. In this video I detail out how I built it. Bare with me as this is my first attempt at a "How To Video" but I felt the information was worth sharing, I know I had a ton of questions on my iBoat forum. Stay tuned, I'm about to start my second frame build with a new Mariner 4 raft and will be taking actual build video footage.

The floor is going to be my first mod on my M4. I just picked it up yesterday. The pipe insulation is a good tip for protecting the seams. Thanks for the video.

Excellent build! Easy to tell you put a lot of thought and time into this project. I’m in Montana also and have been thinking of doing something like this for my wife and I to do some fishing . Right now I have a Fishcat 9 so I’m solo but want to be fishing together . Great inspiration, thanks for posting this.

As far as that Ice chest goes.... I would also consider an electric and avoid the ice. I have a rather large Alpicool that's worked well but it would be too big for this boat so I might consider a smaller one. Another thing you might consider is using some sort of insulation around whatever cooler you decide. It's a lot more moolah but I'm considering Marine Plywood with that West System. Might go Mahogany. Sure would look pretty.

This is a work of art but for myself i would go with a jon boat construction . For me the idea of an inflatable is a craft that can be transported and stored quickly and easily .

Fun vessel ... got mine in 2010. Still have it, renew lic as needed just in case I get to use again. Had lots of fun. My videos are on my Breezeaire channel but they are really nothing more than me and kids. No fishing videos which are way cooler. So how heavy is this, or do you just have it on trailer. Better yet maybe you have it on dry dock. Cool lay out.

Hi great modifications, just got a mariner 4, and small 2.5 hp outboard, thinking about doing similar to what you have done but maybe add extra support for the outboard..? Have you built the latest one yet? How did things work out? Thanks for the video 👍😊

If you add a gas motor I would work on a motor mount that connects to the frame. Good luck man!
@RogueMTRafter
@RogueMTRafter 2 жыл бұрын
This motor mount is good for gas motors as well, but if I added a gas motor I would most likely build a frame based motor mount. I'm actually working on the 3rd frame as we speak, made a few changes, nothing major. The new changes are the front and back storage areas, where I keep my batteries... I'm using hinges on those instead of the original way, and I have this finished with different products. I coated it with 2 coats of ProLux SRD Natural Semi-Transparent Stain and I'm doing 3 coats of marine spar urethane. I'm also getting a different cooler, so I'll be making a new cooler/rod holder set-up.

Do you think you want the floor to be light weight or would a “heavy floor” aid in stability?
@DL101ca
@DL101ca 2 жыл бұрын
It needs to be rigid, not necessarily heavy. You will be carrying stuff and people so the lighter the flooring, the more people and gear you can bring.
@RogueMTRafter
@RogueMTRafter 2 жыл бұрын
The 3/4" Birch Plywood I use is extremely stable. You could probably go with a thinner plywood, but I prefer stability over lighter weight.

What is the measurement of the flooring
@RogueMTRafter
@RogueMTRafter 6 жыл бұрын
I made a new frame and the width of the floor should be 34" wide. The points where is starts to curve and round-off is 14" in at each end.
