All the fun colors and exotic plants truly presented a dynamic expression about who she is, and that was such an awesome surprise! Gosh she’s stunning in both dresses. The first look (in the movie) gives her the “shy maiden” kinda vibe while her final look (that should of looked something like this) gives her the powerful bold “this is what my gift and I are capable of” statement. I definitely love her final dress.

@@HeXtian If I made Isabella's dress, I use a white fabric and sew it in a form of mermaid pose, then glue the flower petals one by one start from top then work my way down to the bottom, sew the ruffles then glue the rose for a finish touch.

I totally agree with you! It’s like her “true form”. Her original dress represents something she doesn’t want to be. I think it would be cool to see a doll with a reversible dress. But I also think the default appearance for Isabella in merch should be her painted dress. It’s more beautiful because of what it means for her character. Also I prefer it because it’s really unique compared to most of the princessy dresses Disney has created.

I think Isabela struck a chord with so many artists because her struggles mirror their own. Artists are constantly facing pressure that all of their art must be perfect, that it must please an audience, that it must be of something popular, etc. I know so many artists who can’t even remember the last time they drew something that wasn’t a commission, something just for themselves. Isabela reminds us to just be ourselves, and that it’s okay to be imperfect in our art. That embracing imperfection can create its own kind of joy.

Love this look! She looks so fun! I do agree that a more drastic change would have worked better to show the changes she is going through. I believe it was probably cheaper to recolor her dress than make a new model and skirt engine. Maybe she could have ripped a slit in it so she could move more freely (also metaphorically) or wear it sleeveless/shorten it. If they give encanto something like the tangled treatment with a series, would love to see an evolution of her style alongside her lifting of the family's pressure off herself.

I didn't think of it, but I might look into giant faux flower petals, attaching them to a dress or base shirt is the easy part, holding the petal shape seems hard

The idea to keep the pastels makes a lot more sense visually and story-wise. I loved how you combined the brighter colours with the pinks and purples from her original design. The succulents and flowers look so pretty!

I really like this version over the first one. Now that I have seen this I wish Hextian would play with colors more in future projects aswell. Hextians style is typically a very clean fashion look so I feel like Hextian did something out of his territory here and it took it to the next level.

Even though I liked the pink version I think Isabela looks soooo much better in this colorful one. It has so many details, the colors work together perfectly. The only thing I wish you had done differently would be rerooting her hair. In my opinion the original doll's hair looks unflattering and messy although you were still able to make it look better with the hairstyle. Overall, I think she turned out gorgeous 🌺🌵

She admitted her exhaustion from being the golden child, experimented with the lost potential of her powers, and made up with Mirabel, and at the same time changed her impression of Mirabel because Isa accepted that she never would have found that lost potential if it weren't for her sister

Maybe you should make custom ooak steven universe dolls, the possibilities are limitless since GEMS in the show had outfit changes, and you’d have fun adding gems in a dolls body. And all the gems are females excluding steven, so your drag style could work, although there are some downsides. But considering how you’re so talented in creating custom dolls, maybe you’d be able to do it.
