I've had psoriasis for over 20 years and I can't begin to tell you the embarrassment it caused when going to the salon. Psoriasis did make my hair fall out - from e psoriasis itself to the medication the doctor prescribed me (methotrexate). I had beautiful, long, thick, wavy hair but bc of the side effect of the medicine, as well as the thick plaques of psoriasis on my scalp, my hair has never been the same. I've been watching these videos bc of my thinning hair on my scalp and I came across this one. This client is so brave, so awesome! I was watching you shave her head and not once did I get the impression of you being judgmental or "grossed out" by her psoriasis. It seemed you made her feel so comfortable. You're so gifted, so talented, so AWESOME!! Btw for the people who's wondering, now that she has a shaved head, TRUST ME, it's SO MUCH EASIER for her to get the medication onto her scalp. It'll make healing much faster and easier. Her scalp probably started healing almost immediately without the hair on her scalp.

I took methotrexate also and it thinned my hair permanently. I ask the doctor and she said she didn't think that was a side affect. I was convinced that's why my hair was thinning. I went from a thick to thin and bald spots. After years of struggling with relaxers I finally went natural. My hair didn't thicken back up but with the natural state it camafluges it better and makes it look fuller.

@@irisrichardson831 oh these doctors! I'm convinced that Methotrexate is the reason my hair is no longer the same. My sister also suffers from psoriasis but it's mostly behind her ears and on her scalp. She called me one day saying her doctor is going to put her on methotrexate and I screamed "NO DON'T DO IT!" She was on it for a few weeks just to show medical that she was on it to get her approved for Enbrel or Humira and luckily she had no side effects. My dermatologist told me "well, even if the medicine made your hair fall out it should grow back as soon as the medication leaves your system." Ha! That was YEARS ago. It's not true at all. I totally understand where you're coming from and I'm glad your doing well. Thank you for sharing.

Very courageous of her to share her battle with psoriasis. Apple cider vinegar, baking soda &100% aloe vera can great help reduce itching & inflammation caused by psoriasis. Mi nephew had it extremely bad, but he no longer deals with it. Not stating it cures psoriasis. Just stating mi have witnessed those natural remedies work.
