I love how this doll came out! What type tacky putty did you use to hold the foil in place? Is it ordinary sticky tack (I don’t recall the actual name) that is used to stick paper to walls? You inspire me to try several things on my own dolls. Thanks.

Could you tell again about type of an eraser? cause my english listening is not so good to heard that so thank you very much about you clip it so useful for me for new make up my doll from Thailand 🥰🥰
@BethRamsden Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! No problem! It’s called a putty rubber, or a kneadable eraser. It’s an artists tool, and is softer than a usual eraser. It can be squashed into a point to get more accuracy. Hope that helps! ☺️

She is so cute! Thank you for this video it's really helpful. I was wondering - this blue tack - is it durable? I mean it doesn't dry so it's sticky all the time - I wonder if it's easy to damage such eye mechanism? I am customising Petite Blythe and I made my own eye balls from polymer clay and thought I could use that blue tack to stick the eyes but I don't know if it's durable enough?
@BethRamsden Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! 😁 This is the same kind of tack that you will find holding BJD eyes in, and that same stuff that Culture Japan use to hold their Smart Doll eyes! It will certainly be durable enough as long as you use enough of it, and, for this type of tin foil moveable eye mechanism, as long as you’re not forcefully pushing the eyes into the head (which I’m sure you wouldn’t do!) 😆 You could certainly use it for your Petite eyes, I already used it to hold in some new eyes for mine! 👀
@monikaempinska9211 Жыл бұрын
@@BethRamsden thank you for such fast response :) I was wondering if for my Petite eyes I could use epoxy putty like Milliput instead of tacky blue?
@BethRamsden Жыл бұрын
@@monikaempinska9211 no I would not use that, epoxy and milliput cure hard like concrete. It would be a permanant bond that you would have to drill into to break. You would not be able to remove the eyes again. Look for poster putty, white tack or blu tack instead 😊
@monikaempinska9211 Жыл бұрын
@@BethRamsden you might be right but if I make a doll for sale I don't think new owner will want to change her eyes? Also I don't want the new owner to accidentally push the eyes into her head... hmmm I still don't know what to choose...
@BethRamsden Жыл бұрын
@@monikaempinska9211 personally I would use lots of tack to secure the eyes, if the new owner does want or need to change the eyes, they can do it more safely. Watch the RodgerDoll video and see how much tack he uses ☺️

If I make a mistake can I remove the paint without removing the sealant ?
@BethRamsden11 ай бұрын
It would depend on what paint you’re using. Watercolours or Gouache will wipe away with water, which won’t remove the layers underneath. Acrylic once dry won’t wipe away 🎨🖌️☺️

@@BethRamsden and soft pastels? Can’t seem to be able to wipe away.🤔 If I use acetone will it remove everything? Including varnish?

I can't for the life of me, get my factory middie open. Can you give me some hints?
@BethRamsden Жыл бұрын
I’ve only opened up this one, which came from AliExpress, I unscrewed the back and kind of squeezed the sides of the head (like with a Neo size Blythe) to get the sides apart a little, then I pried off the back plate, there’s another screw for the scalp I believe, which you can access once the back is open. I found nothing was glued together with mine (unlike genuine Middies) so it all came apart okay from there. I think BeBe Blythe has a video showing this too. Hope you manage to get her open okay!! 😊
