Awesome build! Kudos to you! I’d love to see the construction of this console for sure! Hope you can put that out! One question, how thick is the OSB for the top, and did U ever consider using a thinner (maybe 3/8”) one side finished piece of plywood for the top for a smoother finish/look? Thx and enjoy the DJ furniture!

Nice set up…I actually have a similar set up…but since I don’t have a trailer, I mount my Pioneer DDJ-SZ2 case on top of the 3 ft. 8in. Truss stand (secure it with a single bolt, 2 washers and a wing nut). Of course my set up takes longer because it arrives in pieces. Overall you have great ideas 💡

Great job buddy, looks great, I’m always looking for different set ups, but they generally require a longer set up time, yours looks quick and easy. The furniture type booths haven’t really taken off over here in the UK, so you’ve inspired me to make one and be different from the rest. New sub.

What specific cables do you have going back to your equipment table? I have 2 audio sources with a laptop and tablet. The tablet is the stream music. I like the idea of an equipment table bit with 2 audio sources, I'd need a separate mixer in the booth and then run the output of that behind me. Thoughts?

Wow, super impressed with your design and construction. Question, do you use an external mixer at all?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I use a Peavey 14 AT BT mixer that’s built into a small 6RU rack that I keep behind my facade during events. I can easily access it by reaching over the facade to make quick adjustments. I have the speaker wires, Studio aux, and power wires run all together in one coming from the booth to the mixer so I can plug it in at the same time. It takes 30 seconds to be ready and setup.

Question, in one of your videos you mentioned that for an Outdoor event you wouldn't use a Gas Generator so instead you use the Ego Nexus. So that powers you whole system without any problems? I had a Picnic to do and to be on the safe side I went with a Honda EU2200 to power Laptop Yamaha External mixer DDJ 1000 2 Yamaha DXR12s Electro-Voice EKX18SP. Thoughts?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have the EGO NEXUS with a couple 10amp hour batteries and 7.5 amp hour batteries. Yes it can power my system without any issue. For me that's the controller computer and 2 speakers. My lights are all battery powered, so that mostly what I plug into it. If you have enough batteries yes you can keep the party going. If you can get 4-6 10 amp hour batteries that should get you through at least 4 hours of music, but it depends on how much your sub draws. For example, I was able to run my 2 QSC K 12's, 2 KW 181's, DDJ SX, laptop, mixer, etc and I was pulling between 450+ watts and normal playing volume. This gets me about 5 hours of playing time without swapping batteries.

So question what... What do you use the facade in the back for? Hiding items?
@DJFrizzie
@DJFrizzie 2 жыл бұрын
So what does the façade do at the back?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 2 жыл бұрын
It covers my audio mixer and all the cabling that comes back to one central location. I have the audio mixer setup up in a way that if I need to make adjustments I can simply reach over the back of the facade and adjust the mixer. Otherwise it keeps everything looking beautiful.

What type of lights are you using to light up the garage in this video? Are they all uplights?
@davellbruton1901

Great info. Question I see you made your light truss out of PVC pipes? Also, in the video I see on the side that you made two more boxes the same way. What are those two boxes for? And how did you make your scrims for your light truss?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 2 жыл бұрын
Those boxes are part of the one of the booth designs I created before landing on this one. That booth was designed to be a glow booth and those boxes can unscrew to be placed anywhere I desired to have a small glow box. That booth also had a built in shelf that housed my mixer, lighting controller, up light, and power cord. I sewed the scrims myslef. If you look at my video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqLXnHmfgZ13gtE (DJ Lighting Tips: How to Midi Map in SoundSwitch) the thumbnail (and in the video) shows the back side of that booth. I can do a video on it if it's something you're interested in.

Quick question how are you mounting the top furniture portion of the unit that holds your DJ controller to the truss. Is there a special plate with screws of sorts underneath that holds it all together?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 3 жыл бұрын
Great question... I'll need to do a part two to show the inner workings of the setup, but here's what I did. The top truss plate has two natural holes already in it, so drilled corresponding holes and used 1/4" bolts, washers, and wing nuts to attach the case to the trussing. It holds nice and tight and allows for breakdown in 30 seconds.

Why not run the wires inside the furniture where the leds are for an even more cleaner look?
@Ilovedjcdub
@Ilovedjcdub 2 жыл бұрын
I thought about this initially, but wasn't ready to drill a bigger hole through the top of my truss plate in case it didn't work out. I suppose I could purchase another truss plate and leave that one exclusively for the furniture build. As of right now if I still need to use the truss I can completely take it apart back to the original state.
