Awesome. If the bond came equipped like this I’d have bought it already for sure

The Bond was supposed to be a mirror of the PST..so it was never going to have those features

The scissors and the knife mod are how the bond should have been from the start. Great job!

Great video. I re-profiled my Bond knife after watching this video. Wow…much better! Now I just need to pick up some scissors, a saw, and some Loki wrenches!

Thank you so much for this! It's perfect for me here in the UK. I'll do this. I'll probably remove the knife blade and make this tool purely "tools". So it had a saw, file, scissors, and drivers/awl/can opener. I carry a dedicated one handed opening slipjoint folding knife with better steel, and I can't justify carrying two knives if the police ask. Do you think the rebar Pliers would fit? I prefer them because they have the replaceable cutters? Or maybe some wave + pliers?
@folksurvival10 ай бұрын
Why would you have to justify two legal items?
@drbirtles10 ай бұрын
@@folksurvival in principal you shouldn't have to... But they're gonna ask. Because in reality they'll spin in as "well you already have a knife for cutting things, so why do you actually need another knife?" Which is a valid question to consider as the end user, but nothing to do with legality as you say. But the police want any excuse to arrest people nowadays, so I don't risk it. Therefore carry only one cutting tool.

Nice video. Where did you get the crosss shaped tool to remove the nuts holding the bits together? Never mind, just saw the link :)

Yeah man.. I was expecting the Blade fix, thats the big con with the Bond. The only thing I'd add would be a Bit Driver.. lovin this Bit exchanging feature :)

ACTUALLY, my testing..I prefer the Philips + the rebar bit holder..its far more versatile.

instead of modifying the multi tools, the solution was simple, just place a 4 millimeter circular magnet where the knife is closed and automatically the tip of the knife no longer comes out

Hello! I have my wrenches scissors and saw all ready to go for my first leatherman mod just want to check the nuts that hold it together are righty tighty lefty Lucy? I'm putting some pressure on but no movement! Would oil work ? When the blade is out I'm thinking of popping a small tig weld on the back so it touches the retaining bar before you get the blade issue movement if I get the thing undone that is! Hope you can help thank you
@easyplumbwadebridge6393 жыл бұрын
This is a great video thank you I'm going to get the bond now I was totally put of with the blade issue you pointed out. It's small in the pocket and uk friendly, for me it needs a saw and scissors so I'm going to give it try where do you get the spare parts from ? I'm guessing people like me that cant put them back together again! It looks like the wave scissors. Just subscribed really helpful thank you
@maxlvledc3 жыл бұрын
Correct, it's a wave scissor and rebar file

Awesome mods! Recently got a pocket clip for my Bond as they only just came back in stock in the UK and it's now my favourite EDC. Can I ask what model the scissors are from? Sorry for commenting without watching the whole video lol I'd personally love to put a set of tweezers on mine like with the Micra, you're the expert do you have any advice? Thanks and keep up the good work 😊
@maxlvledc3 жыл бұрын
This should re relatively easy using a pair of small magnets. You can fit the tweezer inside the frame.
@dubernauta3 жыл бұрын
Nice! Where did you get the scissors and saw? From a bladeless rebar or somewhere cheaper? I have to try it. 👍

Scissors from old wave, saw from rebar.

Very cool mod. When you took apart the Bond though, there were already scissors inside. Were you able to just slot that in or did you need to reprofile something to fit the scissors? Also curious what the final total weight was

honestly couldn't tell you atm, as it was traded to a friend, I did have to cut into the philips to fit it. which is shown in the video.

@@maxlvledc Great! Thanks for the info. I want to mod my bond but I don't have parts lying around. The scissors would be the low hanging fruit before I get rebar parts. I don't need the plain blade, so I'd do it with a serrated blade and a saw. Perfect companion with an actual primary folding blade.
@TylerSnyder3052 жыл бұрын
I like the minimal tool set of my bond, but do not really need the smaller standard driver or the can opener and definitely do not need the lanyard ring. Do you know what impliment / impliments might be a drop in replacement for these 2 and the lanyard ring ?
@maxlvledc2 жыл бұрын
Any of the rebar tools will drop in fine.

@@maxlvledc alright, well I probably wouldn't use the scissors or saw much so I guess I'll just leave it as .
