Good job. I watch boatworkstoday and I've learned a lot of tricks for my current repairs. If you want to make the corners easier to work with I found polyester structural repair putty does a really nice job of rounding corners. you can mold it like caulk or silicone and in 15-20 min it's dry. Your project looks good.

I love these videos. They are both amazingly inspirational, plus a reality check on just how much hard work, skill and dedication it takes to do a worthy job of restoring a boat. Thanks, and can't wait to see the final result. Can I come out for a fish with you on it?!! 😁😁

Nice work. You must find the right balance between adding strong fiberglassed éléments and over weighting the boat. It's very promising so far. That should eventually make a very nice little boat.

Since the followers of this channel are from all over the world I thought I'd post something that will most likely bring a smile to everyone's face and demonstrate Shaw's quote, "....separated by a common language." The three ANZUS (The Australia, New Zealand, United States Security Treaty) country's militaries were having a joint training exercise. Soldiers and Marines from all three countries were gathered at a training area on a base somewhere. The Aussie contingent was "lollygagging" and "skylarking" so a US Marine Corps Master Sergeant called the Aussie contingent to attention and went up to the biggest Aussie Soldier standing there, and in typical US Marine Corps fashion yelled "Did you come here to die soldier?' The Aussie Soldier nonchalantly replied: Nah Mate, came 'ere yesterdie." (I suspect a Kiwi soldier could easily be used in place the Aussie)

I think the only thing I’d have done different is run wiring/rigging channels and a chase behind those side pockets before permanently glassing. Otherwise, awesome stuff!

Hey Shawn, ha ha yes still have to install this, may of been easier to do before the installation of the pockets but I need to finish the dash console to work where im going to route the wiring and cables before placing a rigging tube thanks for watching!

Even if things aren't meant to be structural they still should be able to survive guests and kids. Both of whom will be clambering in places you would think any idiot would know not to go or jump on. Putting their knees against the side pockets while fighting a fish is going to test those cutout areas for sure. Same when some fool uses them for a step in or out of the boat. I have had one person go out on the bow deck of a flybridge 26 I had and then three others follow. Grit my teeth knowing the deck had not been built strong enough to prevent the crazing, cracking and resultant leaks but trying not to be a tyrant on the boat! That fall I reglassed steam bent 2x2 oak deck beams under the cabin roof (people on the flybridge) and foredeck. Another place is any open windshield, always the one that wants to use it as a handrail in rough weather.

Hey Douglas thanks for the message! Oh she’s definitely strong enough to stand or jump on and lean up against that’s for sure, more structural like I’m not hanging a 150kg engine off it 😂 built for purpose! Haha thanks for watching 😊

@@AngryMackAdventures I knew the boat was, just a bit worried when you said the side pockets layup schedule was three layers of chopped strand.
