Hey Cam I got a question: would you recommend a trek slash as a first full suspension bike? Also I’m 5’10” and like a nimble ride so is it worth getting a M/L size? I love your vids btw. Now the hard part... finding one!
@rob.ny-la3 жыл бұрын
I’m not cam but quite experienced. 5’10” I recommend getting a medium. If you want something twitchy and can move quick. Longer wheelbase to will help keep things straight. Large if you smash trails and not much tech.
@lucasbiffart66643 жыл бұрын
hey kade, im also 5,10 coming off a large bike and I've got a M/L slash on order that I'm very excited about haven't gotten it yet but with the reach being 470 it should be about perfect for me. hope this helps somewhat!

Sick bike dude. I have the trek fuel ex 8 in red like you and I was wondering if the bike creaks at all when you stand up and pedal because mine is just god awful, I’ve taken it apart and re greased the bearings plus I fitted a ceramic BB and it still creaks. It’s really annoying

Sick bike! Do you find 180mm rotors enough up front? I got 2-piston XTR brakes on 180 on my bike and definitely wish I had a bit more when it gets steep for extended periods.
@FomeDH3 жыл бұрын
2 piston vs 4 piston which is what he’s running makes a huge difference when it comes to power. They are also much less likely to experience brake fade(longer descent=more heat=less power) which is what is possibly happening with your XTRs. If you want to increase the power of your current brakes w/o replacing them swap your pads for some metal ones and maybe get some bigger rotors. source:bike mechanic
@xav_10293 жыл бұрын
@@FomeDH Metal pads already made a huge difference. Difficult finding a center lock 203 right now, so might have to try an adapter. What makes a bigger difference in your opinion…4 piston vs 2, or 203 rotors vs 180

I loved my 21 slash until the frame cracked….
@cleme52153 жыл бұрын
how did the frame crack was it carbon or aluminium?
@keystonerider13083 жыл бұрын
@@cleme5215 aluminum. Almost all of the 21 aluminum models are cracking of you actually ride the bike. Just above the bottom bracket on the down tube. They ground a weld too far down on the outside and bottom and it’s cracking in the weld. Trek is definitely taking care of the issue and replacing frames as necessary. They even upgraded my shock to the thru shaft version.
