That really displays how much you have learned, the vision you've developed in how it should look, and how to get it there, great job Don!

@@134rwa Thanks Russell ! I feel like I learn something new with every bait I paint, whether it’s with airbrush control, color blending or the clear coat process there’s so much to figure out but I am really enjoying the whole thing. Spending some time in the shop with the guy who I got Kersmacks from next week and am gonna take that time to soak up as much information on painting as I can, he is a master when it comes to creating amazing lures. Thanks again.

Nicely done sir. That epoxy around the joints was tough. Really turned out great. Yes sir. I can see the epoxy being a tricky deal on this lure. Great job sir.

@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors This one gave me fits trying to keep the joints from sticking together on the rotisserie while the epoxy dried but in the end it worked out fine. Thanks for the kind words as always Dale. Hope you have a blessed week,

Well that one is a big ol bait! That sponge trick is pretty cool, and the whole bait turned out great. Those tournament guys are breaking out the big stuff next year, so you better plan on employing Kersmacks this spring! Good job on the giant lure, Don. Those new eyeballs look awesome!

@@WestForkWoodsman Thanks Kevin ! Yes indeed, they say “Big baits = Big fish. You know I will be throwing Kersmacks in next year’s tournaments.

Good job Don. Those joints should have had metal pins that could be pushed out to separate the bait into sections. Most big swimbaits do anyway with the exception of abs baits.
@RaggedEdgeLureWorks9 күн бұрын
@@BigBaitPosse I tried to see if the pins would come out but no go and I didn’t want to mess it up.

Well that one was a challenge all right. Guessing you'll probably avoid those in the future, but if not, I'd source them unassembled or something to aid in the epoxy step. Then again, you'd probably have to have a way to have it assembled temporarily for the paint job to look consistent. Guess there's some things in life that just don't have a shortcut, and that's ok. It turned out looking good Don! Very perchy👍👍👍 Should catch some big ones!

@@JumbleTronChannel Hey Ryan, yeah this one was definitely a challenge, I tried to take it apart but because it was a reclaimed lure I could not remove the pins and I sure didn’t want to mess it up knowing how much these things cost. But I managed to make it work and the customer was quite happy with the way it turned out which is all that really matters to me. If he keeps it I am sure he will catch a big one with it but he tells me he has already been offered $130.00 for it !!! I am definitely not painting the right size lures to sell in my fledgling little business….. hahahaha !!! Thanks

@@RaggedEdgeLureWorks I love that thing since you first put him in your video's, but I'm pretty sure he's well out of my price range..lol..Is he more than your swim bait sold for?

@@mullisoutdoors yes he was well out of my price range too Lance , if I ever though I would spend $200 for a lure, I would have just laughed and said thats’s crazy but I had just sold a package of 20 of my lures and I knew Kris had one Kersmacks that someone had backed out on available so I pulled the trigger and bought it. When I told Karen how much I spent on it she just laughed and said “if it makes you happy then why not”… Love that girl !
