Custom Painting an XBOX CONTROLLER!

1.- the control is disassembled and sanded with a fine sandpaper so that the surface where you are going to apply the paint adheres and that it does not peel off with time 2.- once the paint is dry, it is drawn 3.- apply a layer of varnish to make it last Some advice if you are going to do this type of work

@@potatogym4980 In my experience Mr Super Clear is my go-to clear coat. It's incredibly durable and will withstand all the natural oils your hands create without yellowing over time.

It looks amazing. You can apply some coating spray to protect the collor to wear of. Also get a set of screw drivers its more safe for your controllers to paint only its plastic plates.

Fyi you need to prep the controller first by sanding and cleaning it then prime it then painting it with what ever color and design you want then clear coating the controller with nice even coats that way the paint won’t come off over time or chip if you can take an extra step to wet sand and buffing it it will look 100 times better and trust me you will thank me later😉

I love this. You're a great girlfriend for doing this. The only thing I would have done was leave the tape on and give it a coat of lacquer so the paint doesn't rub off from use. Other than that. totally awesome work.

Just a little tip... to protect the paint from scratches or any sort of light damage, you should put some spray clear coat, and that also it gives that shiny effect at the end.

Looks great idk if someone already told you but the screws are called tamperproof torques if they have a little nub in the center if not it’s just a torques. The green painters tape is automotive painters tape. Just so you know for the future

I actually want to do something like this for my husband's birthday, he really likes the gastly evolution line, especially haunter. He has a controller with a white shell and black buttons, I was thinking of using maybe gold, black, and silver for drawing the gastly, haunter, and gengar on his controller (I chose those because I feel it'd go really nice with the controllers colors) was the matte varnish applied after you used all your markers? Or before? Was it to seal the paint in or just to give it a matte effect? Also I'd like to keep the controller white, so can you suggest a clear coating I can use that will keep the markers paint on.

Hey there 😊 the clear coat is definitely for protecting the paint so i do it at the end, a few days after the paint has fully dried I would recommend something thick enough to protect it. Like a varnish or lacquer. Just make sure it’s compatible with the paints youre using. Perhaps do a test on another surface just in case 😊 good luck !
