Custom Quilting - Heirloom King Applique

Here's a look at this gorgeous applique quilt that my client Sue brought in for custom quilting. Sue's mom started this quilt 37 years ago and Sue recently finished the beautiful work that her mom started. It was absolutely my honour to do the custom quilting on this wonderful heirloom.
For this quilt, I used 40wt Glide thread in "Linen". I did minimal quilting on the applique and then a moderately dense meander on the background in the blocks so that the applique would pop up. Filigree swirls in the sashing and feathers, pebbles, and serpentine lines in the block borders finished out the designs.
I'm really happy with how this one turned out. The back of the quilt is nice too and really shows the quilting designs. Thank you so much, Sue, for trusting me with this very special quilt!
