I don't normally like to beg, but please consider liking, subscribing, and sharing this video. It took a lot of time and effort to make, and it's on a pretty obscure series. I really want this to do well, so I can maybe make more like it.

This game is such an amazing experience. I feel like it’s so creative in its origin, story, and gameplay. It definitely deserves its own renaissance after all these years

Man I loved the ds game so much as a kid and have been meaning to play the others in the series for a few years now. Great Vid man keep it up!

Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you get around to playing the other titles. Their main stories are a lot shorter than Arena's, so they're great if you just have nothing to play over a weekend and want to blitz through something quick and satisfying.

God I love this series. BR is excellent, if only because the characters are hilarious and the game has a sort of aesthetic that's really fun. Arena will ultimately always be the favorite, if only because it's the game that completely devoured my lunch breaks when I was in training, and playing it with the kids was always a treat. Also Marcia resembles Vivy and that is amazing to me. Thank you for this one, it's easily my favorite review you've done so far.

BR and RE4 were my favorite games and really the only ones I played in GameCube and I wanted to see a retrospective on it. Thank you so much for this video. It’s obvious it took a lot of time and effort, and I really appreciate it, it’s an amazing analysis on the series. I can’t believe this video didn’t blow up. This really feels like a video from a huge analysis channel. Btw, crazy how a patch for the language came out so recently

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Your praise really made my day. While it is a shame this video didn't do as well as I hoped after the effort I put in, I'm satisfied as long as people like you enjoy it and maybe get inspired to play the games featured. Stick around and I'll be doing more retrospectives like this, on whatever variety of topics strike my fancy.

@@MikhailKutzow will do, I really enjoy this type of videos and I absolutely loved yours, and your humor. And the “mmm-mm” for the idk mumble is so relatable. I definitely will be sticking around. Thank you for the effort you put in for your viewers, I recently got my GameCube back and will play thing for the first time in years and introduce my partner to it

Oh man, for me the DS game was love at first sight. I remember not knowing anything about the game and then suddenly seeing the trailer somewhere on the internet. Back then, Nintendo created a dedicated Custom Robo Arena website for EU and I visited it daily for more info on the release. Once, I played Arena, it just clicked with me, and I didn't even know it was a game series. I always wanted to play the other titles, but didn't get to it. But this video gives me the incentive. IMHO, I feel Custom Robo needed an Anime (or was there one already?). This would have helped the sales, probably like Megaman Battlenetwork or even like plastic toy series like BeyBlade, BDaman or Bakugan (funny they all start with "B"). But especially with the DS title you would have Kids wanting the DS game and it might have created a culture of battling Custom Robos on the go and stuff. Because I remember being the only kid who knew about that game. It would have been so much fun, if this was more popular and more competitive, e.g. with local tournaments and stuff.

Bought the GameCube version on a whim back in 2005-2006 when I was 10 and traded in games I was bored with. To me that is definitive experience and I can still remember playing through the story. It felt like being in anime. It’s a shame that there was no sequel after that besides “synaptic drive” which is a failed successor

I don’t see a new Custom Robo entry coming anytime soon, but the next best thing I found is Battlecore Robots which has a demo on Steam. Really hoping the full release is just as fun as the demo was.

8:13 I'd call it a customizable virtual on (grandaddy of the genre)
