The keychain is a hardware dongle that Braiins had produced for a problem that they later solved in software. Cause of that they give it away with their boards as a keychain. Better than throw it away. I got one too with my BCB100 😎

The keychain is an arduino compatible Microcontroller. Could likely be used for flashing control boards or doing some type of diagnostics. maybe it was a way to MOD a whatsminer P11 power supply with the marking on the PCB

asic to moon never worked on my s19j. I got braiins to work just fine. I underclocked my L3s before underclocking was cool.

Oh interesting. Yeah, the ‘a’ models aren’t on their compatibility list at all.. I’ve never had one of those machines.. they have a telegram group where people answer those kinds of questions.. I’d look for that

So there is still a dev fee if you use their board on another pool? What's the advantage of buying their board if there is still a dev fee?

The advantage is that their board can make your machine run more efficiently. For instance, if I run my S19J 104 on stock firmware with the stock board, it will hash at 104TH and pull 3000 watts of power. With the Braiins board, the same machine can hash at 104TH but only be using 2800 watts. OR it can run closer to 110TH at the same 3000 watts as stock. So youll still end up ahead even when paying the dev fee. The way I run mine is UNDERCLOCKED to about 75TH and running at 1800 watts and that way its so efficient that its the same hash per watt as an XP machine.

@@SetitesTechAdventures I know the board has a way faster chip and a lot more memory and is compatible with a bunch of different models AND has a fourth slot for a fourth hashboard, but I don’t know wether or not it’s any more efficient. If anything I could see it resetting faster so a quicker boot up and quicker autotune. But I don’t know the answer.

Officially it only supports the list on their website that listed off in the video. It MAY work with other models but they would be “unsupported.”

Btw i i bought my miner back in april, on the first day it went wrong, and because the company had no refund policy, i'm left with a really heavy paper weight

Holy crap! Well there are a few reasons it could be doing that, but I would DEFINITELY check the screws on your bus boards.. I’d wiggle the ribbon cables that go to the control board..

Been using Braiins on all my Bitmain miners for a while- initially via SD card and now using the Windows Toolbox as it allows remote installs. And also because using the Toolbox you can now install on S19JPro+ and S19kPro with no SD card slot. But… I cannot see any advantage in using either this control board or any of the other replacement boards when the ROI of the purchase price is forever when compared to just paying the dev fee? Maybe being able to run 4 hash boards- but you would need a custom case, power rails etc……

Out there are boards (for example the amlogic board) that can't be flashed with Braiins OS. In this case you have to swap the board to an older supported version or to a BCB100 if you want to use Braiins OS.

I just talked to someone from their company and asked this and they said there’s no real advantage over the SD card; but it’s high quality components and if you need to replace a control board for some reason anyway, this isn’t more expensive and already comes with the firmware installed.
