I really appreciate this tutorial. Different color but I have these same trimmers and earlier this month I sent them off to KustomKlippers86 to get painted. Only asked him to paint the middle grip a different solid color. Thanks to you I can save some money since next time I'm confident I can do something like that myself. I was worried I'd have to tape stuff off but turns out pretty much everything you'd want to customize on these trimmers can be removed and isolated. Dope.

Personally where it fit snug I woulda took some sand paper and sanded it down since it wasn’t gonna show where it slides on 🤷🏻‍♀️. U cut a lot of corners but overal looks clean ✅ I wanna do this on some Babyliss pro clippers all silver and just do the black parts u did

It will last a decent time if you prep right and use a good clear. I’ve had clippers original paint wear off faster and some last longer. Just part of every day wear and tear

What’d you do to cure the gloss finish? I’ve tried to customize my clippers before and Everytime I used gloss it never cures I don’t know what I was doing wrong.

It should of you don’t put it on too wet. Just light coats that are smooth and even. Then let it sit for a few days to make sure it’s all the way cured.

Could be a ton of things. If you prep and use the right materials, and let it dry in the right environment it should be fine

Appreciate the video bro, quick question, I got the black and gold accented FX trimmers and of course the black starting coming off from the metal grip handle part within a day. Would I have to sand down that part as well to take off the color so I can redo it again your way? Thanks bro

Just take that piece off and sand it down. Don’t have to get all the color off. Just need to sand the entire surface you’re painting

How do these trimmer compare to the wahl lithium ions? I have the babyliss fx gold clippers and absolutely love them especially for bald fades. But I've heard really bad reviews and really good reviews for the skelliton trimmer....just curious what you think pros and cons of these are

I’ve seen it done. It will add thickness to the blade and probably won’t last as long, but can be done.

Can sand and paint the whole thing. Just use 400 grit or lighter so you maintain that grip.

Nope. Light enough sand paper just gets the finish rough enough to paint. Keeps the same grip!
