I'm actually in a build now I'm building out a bagger style with a carbon fiber shell for weight I have a 29x3 front and the 20x4 rear with a 1500w electric hub your lid set up just solved a lot of headache for me since my bags were going to be for the battery and electronics but your setup will simplify it for me, plus having a separate electric system for a radio will make trips so much better I had given up honestly thanks again for the video

VERY VERY NICE, bike. sir. Those swept-back fender & bags are terrific. Did you weigh them? You generated more questions as you went. Where did you find the polystyrene for lining those nice bags? As involved as your lecture is on this, I missed many pieces of the audio that was trashed (intermittently) by the loud commercial radio crap beginning as you opened the lid over your electrical stuff. You did fairly well with much of the wiring for someone professing ignorance of it. Did you use an led replacement motorcycle headlight & front turn signals? Thank you again. If the boys in Tallehassee would return my license, I would arrange a visit.
@KarlsKrafts2 жыл бұрын
I did not weight them. I was trying to keep them strong, but light. Weight was secondary.If I were to do it again, there is a few things I'd do different. I purchased the Polystyrene from USPlastic.com. They sell it in 4x8 sheets in various thicknesses. I did use a replacement motorcycle headlight and turn signals. They were just cheap Amazon lights. The headlight was marketed for a Harley and the turn signals were just generic. They were all separate parts and I drilled the headlight to mount the turn signals to it. Thank for the compliments! With wiring, I understand the concept of electricity but have no education. As I find a need for a function I google things until I can figure out a way to make it work. That's why I was so pleased with this as I had no idea if it would actually work as intended until the first time I turned it all on! LOL

Where did u get the stuff because I stayed the night at my friends house least night and he was selling one for 30 bucks and I bought where did u get the stuff for it and then how did u get the decals off
@KarlsKrafts4 жыл бұрын
I made the stuff! I also took more than the decals off... I cut the frame to bits, and then welded up a new frame using new 1.5" steel tube and parts from the original frame such as the bottom bracket, steer tube, and dropouts. I rebuilt the rear wheel with a Origin 8 disc brake fat bike hub and 8 speed casette. I made all the fiberglass parts from scratch. This is as custom as you can get, a one of a kind, with only the electronic components and mechanical bits being "off the shelf" items. I even built the entire wire harness for it from spools of wires.

@@KarlsKrafts please do. and if possible do you have a wiring diagram? Im struggling to learn how to wire up these parts on a bike. Im not overly concerned with the music aspect, more so the main components to get to "street legal"
@tcm2kd50003 жыл бұрын
Is that Saxon playing? So how did you do 8 speeds on the hub?
@KarlsKrafts3 жыл бұрын
For 8 speeds on the hub, I took apart the Schwinn wheel and laced in an Origin-8 FB2000 36H 170mm fat bike hub. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010TSTJZO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This then allowed me to install a Shimano CS-HG31 11-32T cassette, SHIMANO RD-M280 Altus Rear Derailleur, and Shimano ST-EF500 3x8 shift/brake set. Of course I needed some frame modifications to the rear dropout as well to mount the derailleur. Since I custom built the entire frame, a part of that was rebuilding the rear end specifically for this configuration.

Why don't you lace an electric hub motor on the back and front wheels store the batteries in the bsgs

Cuz I don't wanna! Hub motors are heavy and so is this bike. Instead I went with a Bafang 1000watt mid drive motor. Smaller, lighter, and let's me keep my gears. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpTVmIuwmrGiibs
