Sounds accurate. Unwrapping in rhino... is more of an art form than science.

That's rough. 3ds Max has been stagnant for a while as a software, so most youtube tutorial channes have dropped it... I guess you're better off simply searching for separate videos then trying to find a dedicated channel

Hello, great videos man! I have an issue that trying to solve for long time. How can you have your architecture model to be unwrapped and have the texture scaled to the exact dimension of the texture image? I tried a simple experiment of creating 2 boxes in 3dsmax with the exactly the same dimensions say 200x200x200 cm and i applied a texture with 200x200cm. This makes the texture fit exactly on the box where you can see the edges of the texture images exactly on the seams of the box. However when I unwrapped the second box and want to texture it while keeping the Unwrap in the UV 0-1 space, i tried tiling it with the bitmap, it works if u manually adjust the UV island of the box to have the texture fit within, but you cannot type the dimension of the bitmap in U and V parameters to have the texture exactly on the face fit automatically. This is because the island and the texture has no real world relativity, it does not know how the texture should be scaled automatically to the proper tiling of the box. It does not matter if I am using 3dsmax or other software, because the concept applies to all the same. The thing is when you have one model to do, you dont mind doing it manually, but when u have several models it becomes a heck of unnecessary work which i think that the program should solve for you. Do you have any suggestion on the topic?

Yea, I have a bit of a suggestion - forget about tiling, do everything 1:1 for unwrapped objects. In this video I use Rhino to create precise textures that should be mapped on my objects - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpSbe36dia2ii7c hope you'll get some insights from it :)

Very nice content @DesignGoBrr, You are always explaining all in detail. Thank you. I have just one question : Is it possible in Substance to reverse the texture to be embossed instead of debossed? Because it seems that the dirt texture looks debossed or engraved inside the concrete texture. It should be embossed, right?! Am I correct?

You should try inverting the normal channel of the concrete layer. Flip green or red may work.
