The Great Western Railway is close to my heart for many reasons, not least because of the age old cliche that it reminds me of childhood summer holidays (albeit in the preservation era to the Severn Valley and West Somerset Railways), but also because GWR locos always sound so good!
To help combat the UK's midwinter blues, here is a succession of custom weathered GW models running through Neville Grove and all put to real archive sounds recorded by Peter Handford in the 1950's and 60's. The audio is used with kind permission from Old Thundridge Records and the sounds for each model loco type is matched with an appropriate recording of a real one. I hope you enjoy!
Many thanks to my to my customers for sending these locos to me for some attention in the weathering studio.

I can't stop repeating it: each time I watch your videos, I can't help thinking it is a 0 scale layout.

@@NEVILLEGROVE do you have models of either the A1 peppercorn tornado or the P2 LNER 2007 Prince of Wales? Also, do you have models of any of the other members of those classes?

@@lucasquintanilla1673 Hey Lucas, Ah no we have recently moved house, and therefore dismantled the layout which is currently mothballed. It’ll be up and running again soon though and I have lots of footage to edit - just no time to edit it in! Thanks for checking in though! 👍

@@NEVILLEGROVE also, I wanted to ask, do you have any of the models of tornado or the other members of the class? I know you have models of the P2 so I’m not sure if you have one of 2007 Prince of Wales but the modern new build steam locomotives would be an interesting topic to do on this channel at some point in the future. I don’t know of anyone who has models of the earlier members of the A1 peppercorn class, along with tornado at the same time, but I thought of an interesting caption behind such a thing. I like to pretend in such an event that one could imagine that the reason why both tornado and the extinct members of the class would be running on the same layout might be because that the earlier members had not actually been scrapped, but had been administratively “ lost” as a part of the fabled, but unfortunately fictional strategic steam reserve in great Britain, and that at some point after tornadoes construction one of the original ones was found in restorable condition, leading to it being used in a series of doubleheader events with the newer member of the class. What do you think of that little exercise of make believe? Lol

i must say the recordings of the real life sounds of the locomotives when the model trains are going by look and just make it look like its either gauge 1 or close to real to my eyes honestly, top work mate, i tip my hat off to you at the time and patience it would of taken you to do the weathering of the locos, wagons, coaches and making the layout itself. enjoy the rest of you day/night and i cant wait to see more stuff like this in the future!
