The Great Western Railway is close to my heart for many reasons, not least because of the age old cliche that it reminds me of childhood summer holidays (albeit in the preservation era to the Severn Valley and West Somerset Railways), but also because GWR locos always sound so good!
To help combat the UK's midwinter blues, here is a succession of custom weathered GW models running through Neville Grove and all put to real archive sounds recorded by Peter Handford in the 1950's and 60's. The audio is used with kind permission from Old Thundridge Records and the sounds for each model loco type is matched with an appropriate recording of a real one. I hope you enjoy!
Many thanks to my to my customers for sending these locos to me for some attention in the weathering studio.
