Just beware that everything has to be super clean (internals of exhaust manifold, valves etc.) before intstalling a BD Screamer Turbo. Mine failed one month after installation because the exhaust manifold wasn't checked or scoped before installation and carbon broke off, went through the turbo and ruined it. Then to see if BD is going to warranty it (and they didn't on mine) the turbo has to be sent back to BD to inspect. Your installer can't do it or your warranty is void. If this has to be done you can expect to be without your truck for potenially a month or so, or as in my case longer. My installer did a crap job... hopefully these guys are much better at it

Sucks too hear that Glen, we are pretty particular and careful. Cleanliness is always integrated into every install/service job. This particular setup went to a good buddy of ours and he has put almost 19k miles on it so far with 0 issues. He tows 75% of the time 15k+ we also did a super hot tune for fun and it rips.

Both very good turbos, almost like comparing FASS & Airdog. We ultimately went with the BD because it comes with a new VGT actuator, and the fleece didn't. Customers was toast.

@@816Diesel the truck has efi live 4" straight pipe and now that turbo. it would max out the oem boost gauge then i got it retuned for the new turbo and then the exhuast brake worked way better and the whistle is crazy since the new tuning. now it doesnt max out the boost guage though. they dialed it back a bit as it has the stock asain trans and they said if they tuned it up it wouldnt hold. it builds boost instantly like oem no lag and still pulls harder. next thing on the list is a 5" exhuast and a 48re swap.

Spirited driving and use of the exhaust brake will help keep carbon buildup at a manageable level and let’s the vanes move freely. Trucks that don’t ever get drove hard tend to see more issues with vgt failure from my experience.

Deff need to step up my editing and presentation skills! Stock one is nice, but I can say this one drives waaaaaay better with this setup, this turbo has some high end power that just feels like it's never going to quit, even into 120mph+
