Working at a dealer, specifically parts, sometimes the warranty companies will deny any job that would be done right and pick and choose ONLY what needs to be replaced. A lot of dealerships suck, and so do mechanics partnered with them. I had a turbo issue (obd reader picked up turbo sensor error codes) Went to a dealership, they changed all four of my injectors for some f* reason, car had the same problems. Went to a second one for a quote and they wanted a 150$ fee to “diagnose the issue” and then “at least 500$ to take down the turbo and service it”. Told them no. went to an indipendent mechanic, the issue was a small tube under the engine, the turbo vacuum pressure depression tube. It had a tear in it. Fixed it in no time

Fix it and sell it asap. I had a 2015 Grand Cherokee 3.6 V6 with misfire issues and no check engine light. Replaced all spark plugs and the ignition coil for cylinder 3. That fixed the misfires, but then I heard the infamous pentistar tick, this means that the needle bearing for 1 or more rockers had failed. This means that it likely chewed into my intake or exhaust cam. At this point the car was running well enough with no check engine lights. I sold that thing so fast. Oh and this all happened at 85,000 miles with an engine that was maintained regularly.

The shitty thing is that the third party warranty is gonna insist he go back to the shop that did the work. My company requires a minimum 12/12 warranty on all parts and labor and we will always hold that shop responsible, because we don't like paying for things twice. Although, them screwing the company over so bad may change that. I would have the customer call into the customer service line, explain your findings, and have THEM advise on what needs to be done. This should've had an engine replaced from the beginning. Anything 90k and over will automatically get an engine with my company, since it's ALWAYS cheaper to R&R the engine vs rebuilding it. Plus, there's less liability/room for error.

My recent Toyota issue was my keyless entry not working. Their first solution was 2 new remotes; as if they failed both at the same time. The car would start by holding the fob to the start button; so the keys were fine. They kept my car for 3 days, testing all sorts of dumb stuff, like throwing water over the car, changing door handles (wth?), and then ultimately they wanted to change the entire computer. I told them several times it was very likely the receiver in the car; everything works except the car not receiving signals. They even went ahead and replaced the keys, which was a pain to program cause the car barely received signals. Well d'oh. So I went to a scrapyard, took the receiver from a similar car and plugged it in; everything back to normal. It took me less than an hour to remove the panels and test the receiver, including the 45 minute drive to the scrapyard. They had it for 3 days and wanted to replace the entire car but the receiver. I've never had a Toyota mechanic solve a problem. They have their checklist, if it's not on there they'll never know. Even if you tell them.

I work as a service advisor at a VW dealership and this sounds like straight up warranty fraud. Weve gotten a few customers in the past with similar stories that finally just come to us cause the ford or Subaru dealer they bought a used VW and extended warranty from has had their car 6 times in the last 3 months and it still isnt fixed, but when i look at the paper work, just like this jeep in the video, NOTHING adds up or makes sense. Thousands of dollars in "wire repairs" or "engine overhaul" or whatever BS they come up with and the car is just straight up broken. The other thing we see a lot is dealers (including some other VW dealers) trying to use the TDI (dieselgate) warranty extension to cover things that arent covered or in a couple rare cases things that they broke or replaced without needing to and they dont want to take the loss. Shits wild.

After a certain amount of money is spent on the vehicle an aftermarket warranty will step in and try to buy the customer out there vehicle to crap it. At the end of the day the warranty company is there to make money, they don’t pay mark up labor or mark up parts pricing. Seen it in the dealership world why keep fixing a car that keeps breaking, it’s cheaper to scrap it and pay out the customer. The only warranties that almost never give up are the factory lifetime original owner warranties, they only give way when parts start get discontinued then they start buying one out of the vehicle.
@ant31818 ай бұрын

I went to the KIA dealership for recalls. When I came back to pick up the car, they told me I had to pay them for the diagnostic fee. I raised hell in there. I asked to speak to their manager. After I did all of this, they came back to me, telling me we approved your other Recall, and you won't be charged anymore. So, if I didn't say anything, they wouldn't tell me about the recall approval, and they would have charged me a few hundred bucks.

I really hope there's a follow up on this the customer needs to contact the warranty company and tell them hey this shit Toyota did doe6make sense according to this second opinion I got you need to get your money back from Toyota then pay this trustworthy shop to actually do the repairs correctly
