**Update** just did one on my 2016 rogue yesterday in the driveway. The most challenging part for me was the 4 bearing bolts, hard to access and rust. Hub nut was also pretty stubborn, as I'm in atlantic canada where more road salt is always the answer and the axle threads and nut are exposed when the winter steelies are on. One thing that I did differently is during reassembly, I put two opposing corner bearing bolts through the cv/abs ring then put the backing plate/park brake assembly on, then lined the bearing up and with a little persuasion, got the bolts started into the bearing no problem. Thanks man, I watched another vid on this and they took the shoes off before evem checking, so good to see that it's unnecessary. Great tutorial!

I just changed my front bearing and wanted to see how a rear is done. Great video! I feel like I could tackle my rear one too now.

$ 600 at a garage for one wheel bearing so im glad I found your video! finally finished what a bear. just using a jack and jack stand. trying to get the bolts back on was incredibly hard for one person. the holes wouldn't line up . then I figured out to pull the bearing back off and rotate 180 deg then they lined up. at the last I got a helper to push on the bearing and tell me when the bolt started to go in the hole. also I think I over torqued the 4 bearing bolts to 98ft lbs is that going to be a problem?

Thanks, great video, I did my front ones yesterday, and damn, was only half of the noise issue :) ordered the rear bearing now, and your video is going to help as rear is a bit different than front, I feel I'll be ok to change these as well.

And thanks a lot for the details on the rear, especially about not having to dismount the parking brakes, and the warning about aligning the damn screws :D Got the rear ones replaced today, wife helped holding the parts while placing screws, as I don't have a lift, was just jacked (backed by a jack stand for safety) and I was crawling under the car. Messy, but got it done. No more noise ! So happy with this ! so big thanks again and happy new year !

Thanks on the video. It will save me $600-$800. Always afraid to tackle mechanics. I’m not mechanically inclined. I try. Looks easy. I know it’s the bolts that are the issues. QUESTION: best way to tell a bad wheel bearing? I turn right and hear the humming more. I read that means it’s the driver side. The noise is in the rear. Is there another way to pinpoint which wheel. Thanks again!

@TheEnthusiastMechanic 2 ай бұрын
Seems like you have a pinpointed pretty good that’s the same test that I would do if you go right and you hear it it’s typically the opposite side. The hardest part of this job, depending on where the car is located would be getting parts, unseized and rusted bolts you know things of that nature. Get a really good quality wheel bearing if you cheap out on them, they could go out and then you’re gonna find yourself doing it again so if you spend the money now, it’ll save you time later and also if one is going out, you may think about replacing both. It’ll save you time in the long run since you have the tools and everything doing the one side.

where is info for models WITHOUT all wheel drive? I hear a noise, but jack it up and spin, no noise...???? Maybe the bearing is just starting to go out (255,000 miles). I have already replaced the R front bearing. Now sound starting to come from driver rear.

For front wheel drive it’s the same exact process as I show in the video but easier because there’s no axle to mess with and sometimes bearings when you lift them up will not make noise because they need the weight of the vehicle on them

Nice video. Thanks for posting it. I have a 18 Rogue and a 14 Altima. I replaced both bearings on the Altima. Now one is bad again. Who makes the best after market bearing? Thanks again.

Why the whole hub and not only the bearing ?
@TheEnthusiastMechanic
@TheEnthusiastMechanic Жыл бұрын
You can’t open these up just to replace the bearing they are only sold in hub assemblies. It’s not like the older cars where you can tear it apart and replace the bearing portion alone, new or improved designs as they say.

I don’t give out torque specs as I mentioned in the video everyone has a different way and maybe what I’m using as a reference isn’t correct for your vehicle
