Customer Thought His Dryer Was A Fire Risk

In this video, we go through the process of changing a faulty Candy tumble dryer heating element in addition to a new mains cable. The customer had a faulty socket leading to the machine getting damaged. Initially the customer thought the dryer was to blame, but after some investigation, a new socket, heater and cable, We have the machine back up and running.

Please remove the fuse in the plug of the old power cable incase a child find the discarded power cable and plugs it in, stay safe

5 megohm is only 0.046 milliamps at 230v why investigare further?

That's the external housing of the stainless steel drum..pretty obvious innit

How did the heating element get damaged when the water tray is below?

The water collection tray and the condenser must be cleaned regularly if not the steam from the clothes being dried will circulate through the whole dryer its also likely it was taking ages to dry putting additional loading on the plug and socket , no reason to change the flex over btw i would have put a new 13amp plug on the original flex.
