Ryan, I feel your pain. There is nothing like having to deal with people who think they're so entitled. Customers who hold your money hostage and nit pick every little thing that has anything to do with what you may have worked on. They know that litigation is to time consuming to really bother with unless it is extreme. They are the ones who are guilty of breach of contract, and it doesn't matter how much you try to please them. They will never be pleased and they prey upon the really good business people who go the extra mile to please their customers. I could pay you so many compliments, but I think the best one I can say is, You Are a Good Man!

Blah blah blah....I worked for them when they were together and both of them a couple times after their split up of the business. Once my cousin said to me, " People like to see you do well and be successful but people, some people, just LOVE to see you fall. They seem to get a real kick out of seeing me struggle. I carry this advice with me in life and apply it to everything, I hope it will help. If it ain't working out, it's either of only 2 possibilities. You're not trying hard enough, or it's just not your time yet. At that point you can put your best foot forward and as long as you give it your all, you'll always have the reassurance that the ONLY reason is it just isn't your time yet. And the thing about your time, it doesn't expire until you do. So long as you're waking up another day, and long as you're trying your hardest, it's simply a waiting game. Everyone has their time. Good Luck!

The problem with customers like that is they are so ignorant, they justify their terrible attitude towards the wrong people. Mental illness is a perfect example, however you see it... People will channel their aggression towards the wrong people, because they are mentally handicapped, and don't care to reason because their a grown adult and failed on figuring out how life works.

I have a little lawn mowing business. I literally returned to a weekly client’s lawn with a pair of scissors to clip a few blades of grass that I missed (yeah it was my fault but c’mon man). I made the client watch while I snipped. Se la vie. Still have the client to this day. Extreme customer service! 😜

After this fix. If she ever comes to you for another project. Boost the pricing, 1. She can walk away. 2. To recover the frustration from last work. 3. if she is willing to pay at least you are motivated and reminds you to check before, during and after. Make sure to write on her account to up charge 30-40% in all future projects from regular prices.😂

I believe I would ask that lady for the name of the person who drilled the hole because you have to bill them for the repair. I also probably would have said I will repair it as soon as you pay me the $1,000. I know both scenarios probably will not have played out but at least a seed would have been planted. You are just a better man than I am Ryan! God bless

I got the shaft on a drywall job one time. I wrote up my contract and charged by the square foot too hang and finish the job, ready to paint. The day I finished I turned in my bill to the lawyer customer. She stated payment would be the next day. Realize my contract stated payment upon completion. The next morning when I arrived at the job site the front yard of the house had all the scrap pieces of drywall laid out in a giant rectangle on the ground. She handed me the check and said "I'm only paying for the drywall hung in the house, not these scraps". Legally she may have been right. I guess door, window, electrical and plumbing cutouts are not part of the job. Scrapping the house out for finishing was a mute point. I grabbed my check and beat feet.
